So what about olives? Hate them or ?

We had pizza for dinner last night and it had some black olives on it. I really like those a lot. I also opened a jar of pitted kalamata olives from Greece and put a few in a dish, salty, but delicious.
I am not a martini drinker, so no olives in my wine please. I never buy olives with pits in them either. I really like the large black olives a lot.
And those green ones, the kind stuffed with a pimento? I really dislike those.
Our local grocery store has an "olive bar." There are so many varieties of of olives there. I wish I could recall the name of one that we tried and I really like.
What's your take on olives? Do you keep them around? Pitted or whole?
Black or green?

@JamesHxstatic The best are the open markets that you can find in the bigger Italian cities, they have many more.

Those different stuffings sound interesting. I don't think I have seen them. I will check that olive bar.

I like the pitted ones the best and I use them for quite a few things.
In Pizza they are really good its a different taste altogether.

I like black olives on my pasta ( pitted). We use whole green olives as optional ingredient ( not all recipes require them) for a Filipino-Spanish dish called " calderetta" ( beef or goat's meat) for special occasions.

@lnillerman it does not grow here so most the green olives are pickled in a jar, cooled before eating or used as cooking ingredient, I understand why you do not like it, not everyone does.

I enjoy most olives, in fact I can't think of any I really dislike..although I am not wild about the garlic stuffed ones or those with strange centers.

@JamesHxstatic I do like garlic, and I do like olives, but not together for some reason, unless they are on a pizza.

@JamesHxstatic Yeah, but when they get to just the right scratchiness, they really "cleanse the system."

@JamesHxstatic olives as you wrote about are not found here , we get only ones in bottles very expensive and bits and pieces in pizzas and pastas in restaurants.
Jolpai which we have abundantly ,we know as a type of olives. I tried putting the image but couldn't...And in the net which I looked up they are called Ceylon olives.
And yes region is different from the response

I like black olives. When my mother makes pasta salad, she always includes them. I include them in taco cups too... (taco cups are taco salad in a small cup).

I am a fan of both the green ones with pimentos and black ones. Although when it comes to the green ones I really only eat them by themselves out of a jar. Black I rarely eat plain, but love them in tacos and Mexican dishes, on a pizza etc. Don't think I have ever had a kalamata.

Kalamata are generally from Greece and taste great. I can eat half can of the black ones if I'm not careful.

I love olives. Black olives without the pits. Don't argue with me about this. My mind is made up! Our grocery store has an olive bar. I don't buy from there because they are kind of pricey. But I have tasted or sampled and they are delicious!

Hi James. I like black olives and when you mean pitted, it means sliced? I want them on my pasta too.

Sliced are fine too, but pitted means those hard seeds are removed.
