The Woodchuck or Groundhog

These guys are cute but very skittish.. and for plump little bodies.. you would not believe how fast they can move.
I was able to get this shot with my zoom lens.
The second it noticed me.. I blinked and it was gone.
The groundhog has it's own special day on February 2. I'm not sure I believe any of that if it sees it's shadow stuff... but they are really cute!

He doesn't look like he suffers any fools.
Maybe that's why he isn't really seen very often.

They do move very fast, despite their rather rotund bodies. I had one one time that came up on my deck and looked in the windows..That was hilarious!
