Cry when happy, cry when sad

I gave a link this morning.
I cry in that movie, towards the end. But those tears are of joy. And it is not simple crying. I have big tears rolling down my cheeks.
In general though there are movies that make me feel very sad. I cry then as well.
Why is it that both emotions have same response.

@vandana7 hahaha. Thank you for putting that in. I like onions but I despise chopping them because of that.

I must have seen that movie about 5 or 6 times, so far. Each time I have cried like a baby ...especially the end ..where the hand comes out of the train to help the person who has forgiven a very sad event. The movie's name is Dor, and while I cannot find you a good one with matching subtitles...it may be possible for you to watch the one in top's box, and understand it...based on human predicaments...

@YrNemo It is sad but with happy ending. It is something that makes you think .. what is punishment ...is it really how it should be ... and in the end you realize there is somebody who becomes helpless sad and weak socially emotionally and financially because of our actions and while we may think we are not that guilty ...and the truth may also be closer to our thinking still lending hand to help that person fetches real forgiveness from the aggrieved, and that is how it should be. No..this is one of the exceptional movies...very slow ...but the ending will make you realize ...what the film maker is trying to say and you can't but help agree with him.

@vandana7 I have to tell you, I have some relatives who are hooked on Bollywood movies. One specifically watches and cries buckets of tear. Sometimes, I watched her crying (from watching those Bollywood movies) and I cried with her (only because she looked awful with the tears ).
When my husband went to India for work, I asked him to get her a pile of Bollywood movies with English subtitle. Some ended up having no English subtitle at all, can you believe it!!! (But she still watched them, and cried regardless! Amazing! )
By the way, I had thought of watching that movie, but after you gave me that plot, I decided not to, I can't bear watching any movies (or read any books) with a sad plot. I don't want to cry for months afterwards. (I did in the past when some books or movies end up that way. )

I never thought about it but tears do come to your eyes if something is hilariously funny. Also when someone overcomes something tragic in their life they do bring tears of joy. One of our great mysteries of the human condition.
