This is the view from where I camped up at the Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival this past weekend. There were times when I would just sit, guitar in hand, and stare up at the trees. For the record, Grass Valley is in the foothills of the High Sierra Mountains, about 20 miles North of I-80 as you start heading up the pass.
Does nature make you feel as relaxed as it does me? It's a perfect place to spend some time playing music with friends. Another nice thing: because everyone there is "cool," from the aging hippies to the young kids, learning to pay at an early age, you can leave your fancy guitars, bicycles, etc. around and not worry about anything being stolen. Very refreshing for someone who lives and works in an urban area.

Hi Colin. I wish it is easy here to go to a place where nature exists. When I was on vacation 3 weeks ago, the view of nature really made me feel calm and happy. I really forget to take pictures but I was relieved.

@mlgen1037 Tomorrow, it's supposed to be in the 90s here (Fahrenheit), so I may spend some time pretending to be a dolphin in the pool. But first, I have to deal with my truck, which is ailing again.

@TheHorse Thank you. I agree. Nothing beats nature and always gives you that feeling of calmness and peace.

We gave up city life and all that is there to it just to be with nature here in a semi rural town. I have created nature around me and living here is the best choice we made.
That is a pretty picture I see. Those trees are magnificent.

What kind of snakes do you have? I can bring you some small and shy rattlers from Mt. Diablo if you want. I miss walking/jogging on the beach in Santa Barbara (I went to UCSB). Those were some peaceful afternoons, close to nature and God.

@TheHorse We have copperheads, eastern rattlers, and many other slithering snakes. I don't want to get close enough to identify any. So far, I haven't seen any this year. Knock on wood!!!! You can keep your small, shy rattlers with you, thank you very much. I am terrified of them all and plan on keeping it that way.

It's cool knowing that only a certain kind of person is attracted to this festival--the kind who would never walk away with others' stuff. $4000 guitars, $50 bottles of single-malt Scotch, $500 bicycles, and more, are all left lying around when people head away from their camps.

You have my wanderlust going. Most of the time where I am you can leave stuff out, but not always. Kids get into things, and we are at the conjunction of three hiways, so people who want a quick lift can get stuff. I guess you mean young kids are learning to play rather than pay in your post. I love the awesome huge trees in your photo.

I like this environment, and I like to stay with nature. As a person who has lived in the city for a long time. I like this picture very much. And I want to live in a place like this.

I used to love hanging out in the mountains sitting by streams and going on hikes. I miss that most about Colorado. Sounds like you had a great weekend and it must be nice to lay your stuff down and feel comfortable that no one will take off with it. Don't find that much anymore.

There is a peaceful feeling or at least pleasurable in the mountains and forests.
