Oh no, not Football, The World Cup
No, I’ve can say I’ve never really liked football or soccer or whatever you would call it in your country. I hate the winter months in the UK because it’s nothing but football, everything seems to stop for the silly game, TV programs changes times to fit in football. There are people that don’t like it or even want to watch it!!
Even on the internet, it seems you can’t go to a page without the mention of the World Cup. I will be so glad when it’s all over and done with.
Do you like to watch football, will you be watching the World Cup or are you like me, hate the game.

No, no, and no. It's the sport that I really don't enjoy watching on tv. Though when I was in high school, I enjoyed watching and cheering for my male friends during our school sport's festival. It was fun watching them play on the field. But no way I would watch it on tv.

It serves its purpose. It's good at curing insomnia. Other than that.....

I am without in my dislike of football and avoid it like the plague! Shame that these matches can't be shown on BBC2 or something which would leave the mainstream channels and usual programming alone. People are not that stupid they can't find these channels these days!

@kevin1877uk I think my dislike stemmed from the fact that I went when I was about 6 to see a match. It was pouring hard all day I got soaked I was too short to see the game over the adults so stood there dripping cold hungry and miserable. Never liked it since!

@kevin1877uk being passionate about a game is fine, but I am shocked about the violence and should be a no-no.

I get this from my wife every time there's a major tournament on.
Of course she conveniently forgets that this is only for a few weeks every couple of years where as I have to put up with about 3 to 4 hours of soaps and 'Real Housewives of Wherever" pretty much every day of the year!!

LOL nothing wrong with a good soap.
All the Saturday games, midweek games, Euro games and so on whether or not they are on BBC1 or 2 or ITV or Sky

@WorDazza I guess everyone is different, football isn't my cup of tea, simple as that.

@kevin1877uk And I would counter that with 'nothing wrong with a good game of football'.
I really don't think anyone who watches soaps or reality TV shows can really complain about the amount of football on TV. Outside of World Cups and European Championships (which happen for a month every 2 years) the only football on terrestrial, free to air TV is a couple of highlights shows on a Saturday night. Contrast that with wall to wall soaps and docu-dramas and reality TV shows.

@kevin1877uk I fully agree with you, this is something that makes me mad. Even the fact that the fans can go around making noise during the night when their team wins and they are not fined is not correct.
