Photo caption: On a sunny day in 2008, Clay was showing the sculpting processes to Zheng.
The Saturday before last, I went to Jiaoyu which lies in the northern foot of Qingling Mountains by taking No.905 and Gaoxiao No.2 bus.
Climbing that hill really finished me off.
Anyway,I finally saw Zheng, a 72-year-old man, who was listed as an elderly person of no family by local government. I first met him in 2006. I am an incompetent friend of his.
From the beginning he believes in me, often more than I have done myself.
I think it might be the most important reason why he is always in my thoughts.
I wish I were young again, but getting older has its compensations.
At least I know distinctly that seeing him without taking photos may let him feel ease.
He is still a man who takes whatever comes his way.
Though poverty relief policy has caused the rise in his living standards,he was longing for some peace and privacy.
Perhaps I ought not to have been a high-profile person in those years when I was not fully aware that I was a vain person, but consoled myself that it was for a good cause.
I asked him to pass my apology on to some of my trainees and told him I had to rise to the challenge of my enhanced responsibilities.
I am not sure how long it will take me to qualify as an advanced English teacher.
We might have no chance to meet each other in at least two years.
During the period,a profound and long silence will prevail over all.
