@responsiveme , If you had never given away books, I think that the house would look more like a library.

I love to read and I read many different books. I have many books in my home and I use the library a lot. There is a small library in our village. they don't have many books, but I still visit it sometimes. I also use the big library in a nearby city.

@amadeo That is great. I hope that our small library is going to survive and I would be willing to donate books and money.

I have so many books that I thank my best friends and family for not returning my books. If they did, I would have to live elsewhere. I started to read very early and my parents bought us books for birthdays and Christmas.

I have four bookcases of books and a box that needs a bookcase. I've been reading since I learned my ABC's. My favorite place was the library, though the library and me didn't see eye to eye. I always had overdue books. Now, I buy them rather than pay the fine for them.
I like a variety of books, most of them are Christian, but I also have a good collection of other authors as well. For instance, I've read all the Harry Potter books, a trilogy on witchcraft, Lord of the Rings, John Grisham is also a favorite, and my favorite Christian authors.

I love reading when the topic is interesting. I first started reading story books like 'Enid Blyton' when in school.

Reading is great! Patterson is a great author.
I like reading - started when I was a kid reading horse novels. :-) Now I listen to a lot of books on audio. Sometimes a good hard copy book is nice

@amadeo Thanks! I missed you, too while I was away. :-)
"President is Missing" sounds interesting. I want to get it. Or listen to it rather :-)

I love reading too. I have a great collection of books: my heritage books together with those bought by me are three generations books collection. My books are in different languages. Books were in my education from my early childhood to my university education.

I downsized my collection and use my kindle to read more. If I find a book I think I will read over and over? Then I buy it. If I don't read something within a year? I donate it.
I see these are all James Patterson. I haven't read his in awhile, I want to read The President Is Missing though.

@amadeo I've never thought to donate to the library. I give them to goodwill. I may give some of the books I need to get rid of to the library though. I know they sell them and get money towards buying newer books.

For me I think it is a quite simple answer. At least it is the only answer I can find. I ALWAYS remember wanting to write. It seemed natural to want to read. Both really came naturally to me. I remember as far back as eight years old writing novels. And I remember as far back as I can remember wanting to learn how to read. I knew how to read before I went into kindergarten.

Hi Alfredo. Yes, I do. I have a small nook for all my books. My nephew would ask who read all those books and I would say, its me. My late grandmother was the one who motivated me to read.
