Recently Fiverr implemented a new processing fee of $2 dollars for every order. The fee used to be $1 dollar. That's a huge increase. If you're a buyer on Fiverr I just want to encourage you and suggest that you check out some Fiverr alternatives. These other sites charge NO fee or have a $1 dollar fee on every order.
Here are some:
Fivesquid.com
Digesale.com - (personal favorite)
Gigbucks.com
As a buyer it's much more beneficial for you (for your pocket, your bottom line) to find the same things on these other sites as the ones that you buy on Fiverr. Chances are you'll pay less for the same product/service.
And if you're looking specifically for social media services, if I may say, you can check this baby out: http://socialesale.com
One more thing. Fiverr is like the big corporation in this industry. Squeezing everyone dry just because they have the customers and the marketing dollars behind them. If you buy from any of the other sites I mentioned, you support the little guy.
Start a business for a fiver in the UK. Find everything for five pounds from voice overs to a cheap logo design. Market your skills online for free.

@redtesha Yeah man. I bought something like 3 days ago. I was paying with balance. I get to the final payment page, I see total $7 dollars. What? I was buying a $5 dollar gig. And they did a $2 fee even though I was paying with balance. Insanity.
Yeah check Digesale.com, great site, and no fee on any purchases.

Sure thing Redtesha. The other day I bought something on Fiverr using my Fiverr BALANCE, and I was still charged a $2 processing fee. They're going crazy. Now they're charging the fee even if you pay with your Fiverr balance. Check out Digesale.com, no fee at all.

You got it Icydoll. You know, if you're a buyer you should check out the other sites as it will probably be cheaper than Fiverr. And if you're a seller you should be selling on as many sites as you can. Create gigs everywhere, take up internet real estate. It increases your chances of making sales. Cheers :)

Agreed. Fiverr is established and legit. Not the best customer support, but they're pretty good. But not good enough to spend $2 dollars on every order. I mean, you can go to a site like Digesale.com and you spend NO money on orders, other than the money to buy the gig. If you buy something on Digesale for $5 dollars, you pay $5 dollars, the end.
I mean, Fiverr doesn't really offer anything special in comparison to their competitors. On the one hand there's A Lot of gigs on there. But also, on the other hand, they don't allow a lot of social media services and other type of services that you can find on sites likes Fivesquid and Digesale and Gigbucks and others.
To me, unless you're buying something on Fiverr that you cannot possibly find elsewhere, then you should definitely shop around. At this point on Fiverr with the $2 dollar processing fee on every order I don't believe there's a single service that couldn't be bought elsewhere cheaper.
And let's not forget that on the $5 dollars you spend on Fiverr, the seller gets to keep $4 dollars. So you buy and pay $7 bucks, Fiverr takes $3 bucks, and the seller keeps $4. I bet you most of those people on Fiverr also sell on other sites, where they sell it for $5 and you pay $5, no hidden fees or processing fees or whatever.
