I've seen this movie in several formats; the best being the re-release that happened at select theaters. Being able to see this on the big screen was a real treat even if the plot itself was predictable. If you ever hesitated visiting the mid-west for any reason, Children of the Corn will reinforce your fear. It's a simple story that drags in parts and if you are an avid horror movie buff you'll be able to figure out most of the plot. Initially I thought that there really wasn't a “He Who Walks Behind The Rows” and it was created by Isaac and Malachi to keep the younger kids obedient. Oh, that's something else to mention, during the start of the movie the kids (age 19 and younger) start to kill the adults of Gatlin at the urging of Isaac. The interlopers, Burt and Vicky, happen upon the sleepy town after they hit someone that was trying to escape. This is something that never set well with me – at the end of the movie the body is still wrapped up in the blanket in the trunk. If you've never seen this but enjoy Stephen King books or movies based on his books then this is worth checking out but it isn't as captivating as Misery or Thinner but it has it's moments.

Saw this for the first time recently. I'll never look at a corn field the same again. Shudder!
