Well, we have another showing tonight at 5 pm. For all the moaning that I do about getting the house ready to sell, you really DO get into a routine. We don't have children and a zillion toys to put away anymore, but I think that we tidied everything up right after breakfast in less than a half hour. I will do one more run around just to be sure I didn't miss anything... that is generally my biggest fear. And as for the second showing... we've heard nothing. I almost think that it would be good to get into the business just so that you can see it from the other side. Selling year in and year out, an agent must have a pretty good idea what to do and what not to do. On our side, you just do everything you can think of and hope for the best. Maybe we will go out to eat again lol... one perk to look forward to. You don't want to mess up the kitchen so you eat out lol! Hmmm, that part I could get used to!

Hi Hate2Iron. Never tried doing that since we have not decided of selling our house. When you show the house, how long does it last?

its kind of hard to tell. Most of the time we aren't here. The last one, only because we passed the agent must have been here a half hour.

@Hate2Iron I see. So the agent can show the house without you?

I understand how frustrated you must be by now. Last time we sold our big house, we still had 2 young boys at home and they were into sports. So we had tons of things to pick up and a huge 2 storeys/finished basement to clean. Plus the pool outside and both front and back lawns. I sure worked had at that particular time. Good luck.

That sounds exhausting! Those days are behind us thank goodness. We finally learned to donate whatever we aren't using!

@Hate2Iron , Our 2 sons are gone now and have their own homes. So, the next time we move, will be a bit easier.

We are doing our best. The house will get sold and we will move back home. Just taking it one step at a time!

It's stressful when you have your house up for sale. Hopefully it will sell soon and you can get back to a normal routine

People like houses with some fresh baking smell. Do some baking (cookies, cakes) before any house showing, and you will be surprised. (We spent years in that business, as buyers of investment properties. )

Is an agent acting for you? I guess not but if so, you could ask them what might help. I know they say baking bread before someone comes is a good idea as it leaves a lovely aroma in the house.
