When Deep Sleep Falls by Karyn Masters is a paranormal mystery. It started out capturing my interest and kept it up through the entire book. The story is about a woman who is a medium and has spent her life suppressing her ability. She works at a center catering to the psychic needs of people. As the story progresses, it takes her and her best friend/boyfriend on a voyage to discover her past and how she can save her future. Along the way, she discovers doubts about what she does for a living and whether it is really doing the devil's work or using a gift from God. I found the book interesting and it kept me guessing as to what was going to happen. The whole religious twist was a little unexpected from how the book started, but it wasn't a bad twist and it did make the book different from others I have read along the same lines. This is the first book by this author that I have read and the ending to this book makes me think there is or will be a sequel. Have you heard of this author or read anything by her? If so, let me know your thoughts. Picture from Goodreads.com

That sound like something I could get my teeth into. I wish I read more but I am usually too tired.

@morgoodie Yes I think sometimes the daily grind leaves us too little time for the things we want to do.

@sprite1950 Yes. I was too tired to do any online work yesterday so I took the day off. At least, online anyway. This heat just drains me and it was really hot at work. I would much rather have cold weather than super hot like it has been. They even issued heat advisories for the whole weekend.

I wish I could read more too. LOL. The nice thing about e-books are that I can read them on my phone anytime I have to wait like at the doctor's office or when I am waiting for my kids to get out of school. That was how I did a lot of my reading. I am way behind from last year, but work has gotten in my way.

Nope, I haven't heard of her but I do like the way she spells her name. I checked her website out. did you know she was first published at 16?

@morgoodie I wonder if that is how she really spells it or if she spelled it that way on purpose?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I was going to say she probably spelled it like that for her books. Makes you remember her name better because you notice the unusual spelling. Of course, people do like to mess with the spelling of their children's names.

Nope I didn't even check her website. I didn't do any research other than on goodreads about her. It is an unusual way of spelling her name. I might check out her other books to see if I like them.

I hadn't either. She's not bad, but I would have to read something else by her just to know if I really like her writing or not.

It was new to me too. I like to go through the free books and find interesting ones. I find a lot of unknown authors this way.
