Let us see if the waitress will forget the lemons this time!

Every Friday my family and I go out to eat at the same place. The majority of us get the same food down to the same drink. We've also had the same waitress for the past several weeks. She isn't new, atleast she isn't very new. However, she forgets the lemons more than she remembers them. Last week I didn't even bother reminding her. This week I intend to pronounce lemon quite clearly (though I believe I have done so ever other week as well) and we shall see if she remembers them. A few weeks ago we had a bit of a spat. I won't go into detail as it might take too long but suffice it to say she had a bit of an attitude about her. I was very close to telling her boss but I also know her boss is a bit of a butthead herself so I chose to ignore it and let it be. This lemon business though is driving me a bit mad. Here's to hoping we either get our old waitress back (who knows what we like and is very friendly) or that she finally remembers the lemons!

I would definitely ask her to go get the lemons if she forgets them and, if she makes a big deal about it, I would make sure that it was reflected in her tip.

My family and I are treated to this dinner by my grandfather and so he pays. I can't ask him to lower her tip nor would he let me pick up the tab.

@NJChicaa It is. We got our favorite waitress today which I was glad of. The other lady was there but I guess she was going off shift while our waitress was just coming on.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That is a shame then that she gets away with it.

That would be annoying, especially if this is somewhere you go often. So I hope you get your old waitress back, instead of having to probably remind the waitress about the lemons.

We did get our old waitress back. I didn't even have to tell her "with lemon" as she remembers.

@AKRao24 My family doesn't want me to raise an issue with her boss but honestly I wish we could get another waitress.

It did, thankfully. I don't like to be difficult especially over something so little but when it keeps happening it gets to be too much. We did get our old waitress back which was good. She is always so funny and very friendly.

Hi Amber. Looks like that kind of not new waitress seems to be not a friendly type. I wonder why is she even there in the first place?

She is friendly enough but she seems to leave us alone more than she attends to us. Our old waitress was very good about attending to us often.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah, youve got a point. But did she forget the lemon? Also, where did the old waitress go?

@mlgen1037 The "old" waitress didn't forget the lemon. She hadn't gone anywhere she just had not been our waitress the past few times before.

If it makes you feel any better, and it probably won't, those lemons are covered in bacteria. Interviews with restaurant workers and health inspectors often say they are the food with the most harmful bacteria. I guess no one washes them off, whereas the vegetables are cooked, and therefore germ free. My dad goes out of his way to keep them from putting a lemon in his water.

Oh well I guess that doesn't make me feel any better at all. I will have to remember NOT to ask for lemon next time. We did get our favorite waitress again of which I was so glad! She is always so attentive and funny.

We come at a time before the restaurant gets too busy. When I have to ask her for the lemons she takes a longer period of time than is necessary to bring them.
