Do you have a favorite mosquito itch remedy?

There are lots of things you can put on mosquito bites like baking soda, witch hazel, different gels and creams etc. I think the only thing that has really been "proven" and notice I said proven to work is hydrocortisone cream. I have some of that and put it on..the other night when I was out for about 10 minutes and ended up with 5 or 6 bites. It worked, but I wouldn't say immediately. What do you use for mosquito bites? Do you have any anti itch tips you want to share with us?

Yesterday, I saw a post on Facebook that had a photo of someone holding a spoon to her arm. I read that a spoon is heated with hot water and then placed against the mosquito bite. That somehow does something to the protein from the mosquito that causes the itching. Interesting. I'll have to try that next time I get bit but I haven't been bit by a mosquito in years. Not that I remember anyway.

You're welcome. I think it is the heat from the warm spoon that breaks down the protein. It kind of makes sense.

My grandma always rubbed our bites with garlic. I can't remember if it helped.

@snowy22315 Thank you, Snowy. We also have this sticker with cute animal heads. It is like an insect repellant.

I use anti itch cream. But even before bitten, I let my kids use a mosquito repellent lotion or cream.
