Is Anybody Ready for Cooler Weather? How about Snow

I thought I would post a picture to help you cool off in the heat we're having in the north. I don't know about you, but I could use some snowflakes about now just to cool everything off.
My funny story, I don't know if I mentioned it to many other than a couple comments, but I finally broke down and turned the A/C on Saturday morning at 1 AM. That meant closing all the windows. It also meant moving furniture - i.e. the corner cabinet that used to be an entertainment center under the A/C so I could get to it to turn it on.
I turned it to medium high. It took the rest of the night, along with my wind tunnel fan to cool off the apartment so I could sleep properly. It sort of worked - sleeping that is.
Anyway, I went early to get my laundry done, and when I got home, all was good, it was nice and cool in the apartment. I got to work on the computer, and suddenly the heat comes on. It had gotten too cold in the apartment. Outside was 104 heat index. Inside it was 61. I turned the thermostat down a bit further so the heat would shut off. I really didn't expect the furnace to go on yesterday.
So, just maybe I can hope for snowflakes with all this heat. I did read a post last week that it snowed in June in Canada. So, anything is possible.
Enjoy the photo. This one is from our April blizzard. Thanks for reading.
Hey, if we can post flowers in winter, I can post snow in summer.

It really hasn't been that bad, I think our hottest day was 112 and that is saying something when other years it has already been 120. It will be warming up soon, but we have been getting a constant 105-108 and it has been pretty nice. Of course I wouldn't walk in that weather, but it hasn't been too bad.

@just4him No it is very very dry. Which it is always a constant battle because at least with humidity there is knowing that it will rain or you are near water which is nice, but humidity sucks. Which Arizona, it is dry, it literally feels like an oven because there is not enough moisture in the air so that also sucks haha both are bad.

@FayeHazel I can understand that, being from the land of frozen lakes a good portion of the year.

The photo is nice, but I don't like it that cold. I don't like snow. It's hot here, with a threat of rain.

@just4him yes problem here is during the day it is so hot ac has to run a lot, but then at night, it cools down more in my room so i end up freezing. because if i go adjust it, i just have to go adjust it again in the morning or burn up all day

I accept your flowers in winter. Of course they're pretty flowers. Heat isn't pretty, but snow is when it's hot outside, or should I say ridiculously hot outside.

I saw a movie once where the students had to spend time in summer school preparing for an important AP test, and they were in the locker room of the school with fans blowing on them. The teacher passed out oranges to all the students and told them to 'think cool'. It was a great movie - true story - Stand and Deliver.

Your snow picture does look refreshing from the heat wave we're having.

I am so ready for cooler weather and even for snow. Too hot and too humid outside. Ideal temps for me are low 70s.
Central AC works pretty much non-stop during the day (I turned it off at night) and it does nothing to cool the 3rd floor. And it's loud. When I am home all day it drives me crazy this non-stop noise. Why can't central ACs be quiet?
Recently, when it was very hot out, I checked the weather in Antarctica. It was something like -56. It did not make me feel cooler in the least.

I agree, much too hot. I'm sorry for your loud a/c. At least it's working. I wouldn't mind being in Antarctica at the moment, though today is a little bit nicer.

@just4him It's working but does next to nothing for the 3rd floor. Right now it's set at 75. If I lower it more upstairs will still be unbearable but other floors it might get a bit chilly.

@Courtlynn I'll do my best when the snowflakes start to fly. We only have four months to wait.

Thank heavens it is still nice here in Jerusalem. I am not looking forward to cool weather and then winter and cold. I wish summer could stay all year round but since we have 4 seasons here it cannot. So, I will enjoy the nice weather as long as it stays and then when winter comes I will wish it were nice weather again.

It looks good to me! I was outside for awhile today. I found it bearable. I have not been running the AC at night because I sleep under the ceiling fan..and it has been doing a good job..but it is quite humid tonight..I think I might want to keep the AC on tonight..although I might switch it off in the AM for a few hours.

@just4him I have an osccilating fan like a column one I use in the living room along with a ceiling fan..so I don't usually need the AC.

My AC is having problems but now monsoon rains have started and maximums have dipped below 40 C so some relief is there.

This picture is a visual treat for those suffering the cruel heat. It is an illusion treatment and it might work on the psychology of people.

I think it does help. Sometimes visual aids work well.
