I got this idea from Dianne because her two grandchildren are going to camp.
I went to girl scout day camp and also went to summer camps and was a camp counselor. When I was a camp counselor we had another counselor that while the campers were in bed we had our own fun and he did levitation. It was very interesting. Do you have fun at summer camp if you went?

@ridingbet
Maybe staying overnight might not be as much fun as going home after.

we don't have such Summer camps for kids in the UK - they remind me of this hillarious song by Allan Sherman
Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (Camp Granada Song), Allan Sherman, on Kraft Music Hall (aka The Perry Como Show) 1963 Get new Allan Sherman stuff at... http://ca...

I went to girl scout camp when I was young and it was fun but I was homesick most of the time. I had no friends at camp so it was lonely. None of my grandchildren have gone to camp.

I did go to summer camp and I too was a counselor when I was college age, Loved camp and Loved being a counselor. I took my kids to camp with my sister and her children and we still go every years. We camp in the mountains of New York State, a state park. My sister and I love it, our kids, now adults with their own kids join us when they get the chance.

My brother and I went to Monday - Friday day camp, in elementary school. I didn't care for it too much.

Yeah I did participate in a summer youth camp in my place back in high school. I did it once but I still remember it. It's a very fun and memorable experience.

I did. Three weeks of horror, and fun. The good part was being away from my extremely strict parents, hanging with friends, and swimming. The bad part was that the camp was supposedly haunted by the ghosts of Native Americans (Camp Rock Eagle) in Georgia circa the early 90s. It didn't help that my window had no curtains and faced the deep dark woods. Nor that I was always the last to fall asleep. Those completely uncomfortable canvas converse high tops that I chose to wear that summer, sure didn't help either.

I am sorry that it was not all fun for you. I would probably not sleep much waiting to see if ghosts would appear.

Does high school Summer Youth Camp count? That was with Plan International Philippines way back 2003. They are NGOs who supports Filipinos with the help of foster parents from around tge world.
