Do you remember the first concert you ever attended?

This should be a far easier memory task than recalling that first moviegoing experience. We were likely all teens and who can forget that first time in a crowd at a live performance. No, it was not Linda Ronstadt for me. She was second. The honor goes to Heart just as they were beginning to break big. The venue was the Universal Amphitheater at Universal Studios and Tour. For 40 years, this was a top concert venue in Los Angeles. From 1972 to 2005 the amphitheater was an open area facility like the famed nearby Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theater. In 2005, it was converted to indoor and renamed Gibson Amphitheater. The venue was demolished in 2013 to make way for The World of Harry Potter tour attraction. I do not recall who the opening act was or much about Heart except it was in support of the “Little Queen” album and experiencing Ann Wilson’s “pipes” first hand as she roared “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man.” “Barracuda” was riding high at the time and performed twice, second as encore. The band had a limited repertoire then. I bought a bright red tee with the band’s glittery logo across the front. So was it rock, pop or country for you? Who was on stage?
Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart perform Barracuda LIVE at Cal Jam 2 in March of 1978! Over 300,000 fans were there. http://www.facebook.com/heart http://www.tw...

For me it was a classic music concert. My father took me to a beautiful theater. My mother did not like classicmusic so he took me with him. I felt very grown up.

@marguicha I listen to more classical and jazz than anything else, even though I play mostly bluegrass and rock.

My first concert was to see The Four Seasons with friends. Frankie Valle wanted to keep my pen after he gave me his autograph, but I refused to let him have. He TOUCHED IT! Lol!

I don't remember, but my mom tells stories about it. I was 3 years old and it was a rock concert. My mom says that I sang along the lyrics.

I do remember my first concert when I was 19. I went to see Metallica. I don't remember who opened for them though. It has been too long to remember that. LOL. It was an awesome concert.

Wow, my first International Act was Air Supply (Opening act was one member of Ballyhoo (Man on the Moon) and one member of Clout (Substitute). Before that though my girlfriend (now wife) took me to see the winner of our local Idols competition (He was 4th in the global Idols competition), Heinz Winckler...

That's pretty cool! The first concert I ever went to was Steven Curtis Chapman, but you probably never heard of him. My dad's first concert was Elvis, which I thought was so cool. One of his sisters took him. I don't know why, but he wasn't impressed.

Wow yes, it was a long time ago but it was Gary Lewis and the Playboys.
From Sept., 1965. Gary had asked his dad for some beautiful models to be on stage, and he got them :) **FULL VERSION with complete intro**: https://www.youtu...

I was a teenager from the country, and my first concert was over in Detroit, Michigan. I had never seen so many people in one place before, nor heard such loud music and sounds. I remember my ears ringing for a day or two afterwards-pure heaven! I saw Bob Seger, and Mitch Rider opened for him. They both really rocked that old Cobo Arena-which is no longer used as a concert venue. It was Bob's Against The Wind Tour, and then a couple of years later I saw him there when he did his Nine Tonight Tour. He puts on an excellent show for that crowd, of course he is from Michigan.

I wish my first concert was when I was a kid or teen. But it wasn't until 6 years ago, when I was 20. And it was Country singer Josh Turner, who I've seen again since - (last summer).
