MyLot Topics - is it anything under the sun?

I know that it is forbidden here to post explicit contents (for obvious reasons), but what topics can be posted here? can post things about games, animes, or even my ex girlfriend who left me years ago? i'm kinda in a blind as to what kind of topics are accepted here at mylot.

Make sure that the way that you word the topic encourages discussion rather than just requiring answers - and don't forget that a proper discussion means that you post a topic, people respond to it and you and others comment on people's responses. Just saying 'Thanks for responding' does NOT make a discussion!!!

Anything that occurs to you at any moment is a good topic to talk about. The topics can be varied and the most simple things can become a great topic of dicussion

I took a photo of a lizard sitting in my house. The discussion is still going on. The simple things appeal to people.

@akalinus wow, i never thought it would be that simple, i thought i have to make some kind of elite discussion or something.

Other than explicit adult or illegal content, or things that are inflammatory and intended as a personal attack or to stir up trouble, there really is no topic that is off limits.

Someone told me that as long as the topics are suitable for even your four years old niece, you are safe.

As in as long as you do not need to shield your niece from watching the thread, the thread is safe.

Don't try to discuss about anything too technical or specific that most of the people find difficult to understand..... I once posted about a particular computer game I was playing....... and the discussion got removed by admin.

huh? where did you read that rule - "Don't try to discuss about anything too technical or specific that most of the people find difficult to understand?" - did admin tell you that's the reason?

@hereandthere Yeah.... admin could not make out what I was talking about which she expressed in a comment to the post and deleted it right away.

Besides making sure your posts are "family friendly" you should never call someone out, and you should not put up posts that promote a business or earning link for yourself.

yep, i kinda figured that out, it might be kind of rude if i did all those things, all i want is to make friends here and earn at the same time.

you can see other people post and read FAQ guidelines for more help and suggestion

You can always talk about ideas, because great minds talk about those things. Well, explicit topics ain't fun anyway. What's the use of talking about exes who left us; you're just giving brownie points to them. Perhaps you can talk about your day like how they are doing it on here; on the passing of a cat, dog, loved ones or just about music and etc. Anything which you normally talk with the guy or girl next door.

I suggest making sure your discussion is one that doesn't result in a yes or a no answer. Many people post a photo of the topic in their discussion and I think that is an excellent idea. When you comment on a member's response don't just say thanks for responding to my discussion. Don't discuss anything offensive on My Lot. Yes, totally avoid any explicit contents.
