All the grass in the park is thin and brown - not much point in it being there. Boys play football on it everyday which explains its dilapidated condition, and there has been no rain for a long time, for many weeks now. Every afternoon Elsbeth rolls her coffee truck along Singa Street and stops it just inside the park gate, under the dried up jacaranda tree. She stays there all afternoon hoping that someone will stop and buy some coffee from her. But it's always too hot for coffee. Everyone goes to the far side of the park where Desmond sells cold drinks. They are expensive, much more so than Elsbeth's coffee. Yesterday I felt sorry for Elsbeth so I bought a cup of her coffee. I didn't expect it to be anything special, nothing more than luke warm, coloured water with a vague taste of coffee but I was wrong. Elsbeth's coffee was the best I've tasted in a long time and I'm making it my mission in life to tell everyone about it and hopefully boost her trade.
