when in the first grade. We often take a trip to the farm. It was nice get away for a day. I always look forward to this.Love seeing the animals etc. Even today.I would love to spend a week on a farm. Open air, animals etc. Not sure why I never thought of this as I got older. Sitting on the porch, listening to some stories etc. People today should do this to get away. But one problem how do you find a farm to stay for a week. Could you spend a week on the farm? photo online

If you can book a week at a dude ranch, I'm certain you can book one at a farm. I've visited many farms here in the area with my parents, then with my two sons, and finally with my grandchildren. I wouldn't mind sitting on a porch and shooting the breeze with friends or family, but can do the same at home without the barnyard odors. I'd rather visit a foreign city or tropical island.

@DianneN the farm was mostly to rest.I have been many countries and island. My trip overseas ae done and no longer to travel.Right now just want to rest and enjoy whatever is left for me. i would love to go back to to Europe,Central America.I have done a lot of traveling. Now I am tired.Do not want to sounds morbid. But I am.

Yes, when we first moved here, we had chickens, cows, and horses, and a lot of dogs. Being from California, it was so exciting. my kids loved it. Sometimes I miss having all the animals.

One of my ex-boyfriends was a farmer. His home was very peaceful, and I didn't miss my noisy neighbors when I was staying in his home. I think that a week on a farm sounds like a nice idea.

You are more than welcome to come and stay on our farm for a while! We often take in Work-a-wayer's, people who want to travel around the world and volunteer to help out with peoples land / projects in return for free food and accommodation. It's not limited to youngsters :) and we have met all sorts of fab people through this programme :)

@amadeo I am not a farm person. If I want to see more animals than the ones I see wandering around I can go to the zoo. I am just saying. A farm is not my choice of places to visit.

I would simply turn left out of my neighborhood and go for about three miles until I reached a small horse farm on a hill. Of course I am not sure if it's in operation as such because I haven't seen horses roaming in years. It was bought a few years ago and I believe the occupants just use it as a home. They could very well have small farm animals that I just do not see. I also have to say I'd recommend getting away and just enjoying the slower pace of life.

I can definitely spend a week on a farm so long as I do not have to do the farm work. That would not seem fun to me. Farmers are just tasked with quite a lot of work. No farm work for me, but staying ON the farm? Sure. Why not?

you should do some vacation at farms because it is very refreshing and unwinding.
