I Finally Did It

I stated on another discussion that I hadn’t painted in so long I was afraid I’d forgotten how. I finally got the courageous to find my paints and brushes and was surprised that most of my paints were still good although some were dried up and had to be thrown away. A few colors I’m out of but I had enough to sit down and see if I still knew enough to at least get started. I’m not there yet but my painting turned out better than I thought it would. What do you think.

@RubyHawk I do too. I also like wintry scenes with churches. There is a photo somewhere (I know my aunt has a copy) of my great grandmother's church in the winter.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That’s a nice keepsake. I painted one of my sisters a picture of her church.

@RubyHawk I've tried and the results were crap The only art type thing I'm any good at is pottery and I was actually pretty good at that. Just had to get someone else to do the designs in the glaze.

@Mike197602 That would be interesting. Do you have a way to bake the pottery.

@Hannihar Thanks it's a start, I hadn't picked up a paint brush in so long.I have canvases but I didn't want to ruin them dabbling. That's on the back of a cereal box.

@Porcospino That’s so neat. I’m nowhere near that good but I admire those who are. When you’re ready you might give us your website so we can look in.

I'll lay them aside in a box. I have some on my walls, but I don't have room for many. I don't know when I'll do it again. I really should use my paint before it all dries up.

Thank you. All you need to paint is a few brushes! A few bottles of paint and a piece of wood or pasteboard if you can’t afford a canvas. On this painting I used the back of a cereal box, turned to the inside where there’s no:print. You can buy expensive equipment and oil paints but I use acrylic. If it were a painting I wanted to sell I would use canvas or canvas board.
