As I mentioned in my earlier discussion that I am just now in the process of clearing my inbox and am checking all my old notifications of mylot which I have not responded to. Have realized that a lot of my responses have not been acknowledged or replied to. Looks like a lot of people just start discussions and then do not reply to any of the responses. I think just for the sake of courtesy atleast one should go back to old discussions and reply and acknowledge all the responses. Whats your take on this?

Like today I am very often late in my responses. Specially the old ones where I have not yet read the notification emails that I have received. But its better late than never and I am happy that everytime I log in here I have notifications in my inbox that I can reply to be busy here.

@Shivram59 Yes a lot of new mylotters think that they have only to start discussions and forget about it. Its not fun replying to such discussions.

@mayka123 I know you will sooner or later comment back on them.Sometimes we comment back late due to some reasons. We don't haveven any time limit.here.But,as I told you in my response, there are some who never comment back. And I think it is against the spirit of this site.

Well, it depends on the person who is mylotting. We all have our own strategy that we use when it comes to mylot. Others check their notification first, others discussions or vice versa. But if someone replied to your post, it is indeed good if you can reply on that.

@mayka123 really? guess what? I just check last week some of my old post and there were still some unanswered comments...
Sometimes we thought that after all the new posting and all, the older posts were under everything. It is one thing I learn, to check on my older post because there might be some other unseen and unanswered comments.

I have also noticed that many my responses didn't get a comment from the person who started the discussion. Sometimes people aren't able to comment back because they are busy with other things or because they missed the notification etc, I understand that. But I don't think that it is good thing to start a lot of discussions and never comment back on any of them.
I appreciate that people took time to respond to my discussions, and I always try to comment back.

@Porcospino I have made it a habit now of looking at my old discussions sometimes. And I believe that its better late than never to respond to discussions.

@mayka123 It is good idea to go through old discussions. Sometimes I am away from myLot for long time and when I return to the old notifications are gone, so I have to open the discussions in order to find responses without comments.

I totally agree with you. It should be that they at least comment back on our responses.
But I think, they have become so busy after posting that they weren't able to see the responses. I hope it's that way and get back as soon as they can to answer the responses.

On most of the days, I check my notifications and answer to all of them. From last few days, I just couldn't read or respond to any discussions as answering to all the notifications took all the time. So today I decided to just check discussions and respond to them. I am keeping the notifications waiting till tomorrow. I am going to take my daughter to music class tomorrow morning and I will use that waiting time to answer to all the notifications.
I definitely like to answer and respond back to all responses. That keeps the interactions going and that is what myLot is all about.

@arunima25 I always have notification emails pending in my inbox and do not delete them till I have responded to the comments.

@mayka123 Yes, that is what myLot is all about and the more notifications you have, more interactions has happened. SO it is a good sign.

This is just my opinion but... I wouldn't care about it too much. I responded, they didn't. So be it. I can't force them to do things the way I do things. I can only control what I do.
Plus, to give them the benefit of the doubt... I was recently gone from here for just one week. I expected that when I returned, I can just look at my notifications to see the responses to the 3 discussions I posted before I left.
But lo and behold, the only things in my notifications page are from that day I came back, regarding my responses to other people's discussions. Notifications about responses to my discussions have apparently disappeared (within just one week!) I had to go to my discussions list to check them.

I also need to reply to the comments on my posts. Most of the time, late tbough. But it would be really nice to response to show respect and courtesy.

@jobelbojel The notifications on this site get deleted after some time. If you get notifications by email then you will be able to see your old notifications.

i know it seems that way. but i think if everybody on the website continues to stay active mylot would continue as a growing community to it's full potential. i think it takes time and energy to continue to interact on a regular basis online similarly than it does in person. but probably not as much energy to interact and stay active online as it would be in person.

Yes if all the members here continued to be active regularly this would have been a very big community. But I guess all of us sometimes get lost elsewhere and then have no time to respond to discussions here. I too got busy elsewhere and have not been very regular here and hence was not able to respond to your reply.

If someone acknowledged my comment, that's great, at least someone ready took the time to read it or at at least have noticed it; if it was not acknowledge, it's still okay.

My main concern is that some don't answer what is being discussed. I don't mind the eventually they will kind of thing, but it is a little on the polite side to answer the related question, in my opinion.
