I had no idea how to write a limerick but my son wrote this.

Picked up a book on the side of the street
A book of sadness and drought
He opened it up and laughed at his thoughts
He can’t read

nice poem, though not really a limerick, - still a lovely verse and that is what matters.
There was a limerick written by Arthur
Not by anyone called Martha
It wasn't much good
In fact it was crud
He writes haiku too and that's harder

@Wowtalk The limerick has five lines. The first, second and fifth lines rhyme together, and the 3rd and fourth lines rhyme together, so you have an AA BB A rhyming pattern Cat sat dog frog Mat
