I have never been so ready for summer to be over, except for the fact that it will be that much closer to all the holidays (and I'm not quite ready for that yet).
I am looking forward to a few hours out of the week with NO ONE IN THE HOUSE. Even the little guy will have preschool two days a week.
I never planned to have a big family, but these things happen when two divorced people who each have children get together. I don't always think I cope with it very well, but I mostly manage.
Still... I'm ready for a break.

I think you are an awesome woman! Most women do not take on step children well. However, I do see your point because I need those silent moments myself.

I think I need those moments to figure out what to do next, especially so I'm not trying to figure out dinner at 5:30 or checking my phone to remind myself of what day it is.

Some people thrive on that! I think I'm a different kind of person though.

You do very well with it. Especially having to deal with the insanity of the step kids mother..

I can understand that. Having a blended household can be tedious. I hope you enjoy that break you will be getting. Mine start back on the 28th and I am kind of dreading it. We have had a decent summer.

You're doing an awesome job. I always liked working with kids, but I also liked the fact that I could go home to peace and quiet! I can understand why you're ready for a break, it must be exhausting never getting a break from the little ones.

Yeah, it feels early to me too, but that's when most of the surrounding school districts are going back too. When I was in school, we didn't go back until the day after Labor Day.

Have you been school supply shopping? I love when there are back-to-school supply sales, as I write. Do you suggest any stores?

I haven't done any at all yet, although I did take stock of backpacks and lunchboxes this week. I need to find out if any of the teachers require particular supplies.

Having the whole house to yourself for few hours. That is the best thing one can wish for.
