Shera was one of the sexiest superheroines during the 1980's. She was marketed for little girls but she have a huge male fanbase because of her sexy appearances. I mean she is voluptuous blonde who fights in a short dress.
Netflix will be releasing a new cartoon about her but they redesigned her. Her once big boobies are now flat as board. They added granny looking shorts on her costume and wipe out every single ounce of sex appeal she is known for.
I am a 90's kid and I usually prefer anime over cartoons but I did watch some 80's American cartoons. The feminist kinda want to ruin everything men enjoys.
Some people likes the desexualized design because they believe it will help little girls to be not insecure about their bodies like Barbie made them to.
While others hated the new design because it has Social Justice and sex negative feminism Agenda written all over it.
The original was a sexy warrior who fights evil.
She-Ra is distributing food to the starving people of Sand Valley when she is captured by the evil Baron Condore. Unexpectedly, a plain young woman named Sma...

That's her redesign?? I really don't get that at all . . . this kinda looks elfy - I don't know. My daughter says she kinda looks Sailor Moon-ish. Old fans aren't going to like this. Did you see Wonder Woman? We loved her current style!

@much2say Just watched this new version... She is lesbian now. They bombarded this new series with lots of LGBT and obese characters. Its bombarded with political agendas. It is like a democrat's wetdream and a Republican's nightmare.

The new redesign looks like a 14 year old Thor. She looks like a long haired boy. I think they should have kept her body, they can just add more armor so she will look wholesome.

yeah, i remember she-ra and he-man. i agree my first thought was sailor moon, too, when i saw that.
on the other hand, when cartoon network was new, i liked the powerpuff girls even though i was already an old working adult. i guess it's all about the story and the characters.

What I see with the New Look is Thor as a 14 year old boy who plays football. Just look at all the muscle on her harm.

I hadn't heard of her, but if she was marketed for little girls, then the redesign is appropriate.

Apparently she is now flat chested because she is now a teenager. Also they dont want little girls to have body image issues since Barbie is blamed for that.
Her original design looks like this

@BarBaraPrz The male fans are the angriest for the redesign.

She was a 1980's superhero known for sexy lingerie costume. Now they made her flat chested, chubby and less attractive so little girls wont have body issues.

This is old, but from what I heard, the idea was to get rid of the "male gaze" aspects on She-Ra's physique. I mean even you pointed out her beauty was part of what caused guys to watch the show.
And in thinking about it now, given how bringing male fans elevated My Little Pony, I don't see why She-Ra's show runners wanted to limit the appeal of the reboot.
