A short walk benefit more than long walk Short walk for 15minutes is very beneficial. If you do this four times a day Walking 15 minutes a day four times will burn as many calories as walking for an hour. This may benefit you in longer walk. As for me I take the 15 minutes walk.Very happy doing this if able every day. I am not looking for weight loss, but it does make me feel good about myself. Lots of them walk for hours and hours. You still get the same with the short walk No one but four. Can you do this. I

@amadeo I wish I could take 15 minute walks 4 times a day but cannot. I do some exercises inside and take a short walk around my neighborhood when I can. Sometimes I take longer ones.

I just saw an article today about losing weight in 21 days by walking starting at 15 minutes at a time. My problem is that I use the treadmill in my home and can't seem to stop at 15 minutes if I'm not hurting. And because of that I do result in a lot of pain later on. And it's not because I'm not used to the exercise. I have fibromyalgia - chronic pain and fatigue. I have been extremely tired lately, not sleeping well, and just haven't had the energy to get on that treadmill... or do anything else for that matter.

@amadeo I got almost 9 hours sleep last night. That felt good. But I saw a doctor yesterday and she is sending me for a sleep study.

I walk twice a day in summer, only during the cooler hours, half hour in the morning and half hour late in the afternoon.

It's too hot for me to go out walking even for a short one. I try to walk as much as I can around the house to get in those much needs steps. When it gets cooler out then I'll head out doors.

I love to walk, but I do not feel that it helps me with weight loss, maybe I move too slowly-like a stroll.

Years ago, I used to walk 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. Right now, I walk 15-20 in the morning and 15-20 minutes around late morning.

@amadeo , It is good to walk. I sometimes come up with new ideas when I take time to take a little walk. I will be walking all over Walmart in the next few days. It's been raining cats and dogs lately.

I walk daily with my friends and usually for 4-6 mile fast-paced walks. My son and I take fast walks, but my husband and I seem to take moderate walks together. I feel as if I'm dragging him, since we hold hands. LOL! I find them invigorating, but love the gym much more now. I will continue doing both. Glad you walk for health, too!

When it comes to exercise some is better than none I had a friend who told me you have to keep moving or else your health might eventually be affected. So, I take that to heart and try to find time to exercise most days.
