Would you build your own home?

If you had the time and place to to it - would you build you own home by yourself?
I saw on YouTube a couple that decided to simply buy a land and a sawmill with a plan to build a home for themselves.
What do you think? Is the time and efforts are worth it? Would you do this?
I think if I had someone with me to so it and the money to buy the property and all that you need.. I would do it.
That is quite an experience!

I am sure that it would be very stupid of a person to do something serious and costly if he does not have special education for it. For example, there are hundreds of videos on YouTube where females make hand-made jewelry boxes, dressing tables and other staff from old boxes and paint/colored paper. Such items look cheap, ugly and are of a bad quality. It is better to make money doing work you have education for, then spend them on things you need.
I am not going to ruin my house, anything can break any second.

So those who spend 5 years in college to become professional builders are idiots? And they do only one thing - floor, bathroom or something else. How can a research help if your hands have never touched tools? Of course, my husband does small inner repairings like changing a light bulb, but you are saying about the building. What if your central heating is ruined and you will be flooded with hot water? Or your bath will just fall down?

first of all - of course don't do something that you are not sure with. as you said it could lead to desasters.
and.. i didn't said nothing about building a 3 level house with 20 rooms.
a simple made-of-wood house. with good amount of research and good mind you can build 4 walls around you and roof above you.
