Haven by Kay Hooper was a very good read. This is only the second or third book that I have read by this author. I do like her and intend to read more books by her. This book is about a woman named Emma who is having nightmares after she has had an accident where she hit her head and suffered some trauma. But are they just nightmares or something more. She's not sure but she keeps a diary of them anyway.
Emma's sister has been gone for 15 years and they haven't kept in contact with each other. Out of the blue, Emma's sister, Jessie, calls her and tells her she is coming back home to deal with the past she has been running from all this time. Why has she repressed all these memories from before she left home? Jessie needs to remember and deal with them so she can continue to develop her psychic abilities and to realize her potential. Jessie works for a place called Haven where all those employed with them have special abilities. Often working closely with the FBI's Special Crimes Unit. It's all hush hush though.
While Emma and Jessie try to assemble a relationship with each other after all this time, there is a serial killer at work who has been at work for a very long time. Is this part of the memories that Jessie needs to remember? Does she have something to do with the onset of this killer? What about Emma's nightmares? How do they tie in with the serial killer?
Of course, Jessie didn't come home alone although she doesn't know she has been followed by one of the top Haven agents. Will he be able to help her and keep her safe? Or will the serial killer get to Jessie first?
I hope Kay Hooper's other books are as good as this one. I couldn't put it down without a fight. But I had to sleep!!

That does sound like quite a book. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am still trying to figure out what to read next.

I hate when I have to think too hard about what to read next. Hope you figure it out and enjoy the read. I am going to the library tomorrow and then I will have to choose what books to get.

@morgoodie I bought nine more books today. Well if you consider spending a voucher as "buying".
I've been keeping a tally of them all here on mylot.
I am still not sure what I will read next.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Okay just close your eyes, reach out and grab one. That's the one you have to read. Problem solved.

You do read a lot. How do you find time with work, kids and online sites?! You must be exhausted!

@morgoodie Wow that really is what you call multitasking although I guess if you are watching vids it's not too difficult.

@sprite1950 Yeah at one point I would have two phones running Perk, videos on the laptop, and reading. My sister laughed at me because of all the stuff I had on my lap while I was reading. But hey when you love to read like I do, you fit it in as best you can. When the kids are in school, I would sit in the school parking lot and read while I waited for them to get out. I live 10 miles from where they go to school and from work so it didn't make sense for me to come home and then turn around to go back to get them. It would make for a long day since I was starting work at 5 am and they didn't get out until almost 4 pm, but it saved gas.

Kids are pretty self-sufficient so they get their own food and whatever else they need. I read while I am working online when I am watching videos. I read at night after I have done my fill of online work. I have always made time for reading since it is my escape from the real world.

Right me too. I finally read one of her books a while before this one and it was good too. It's funny how I will see an author multiple times and never check them out. I am glad I did this one.
