So Media misjudged these men because they are from rich families

I remember when I still live in the Philippines. Next to the Vizconde massacre, the most sensational crime is the kidnapping, rape and murder of the Chiong sisters.
The Chiong sisters are college girls who are daughters of a Chinese Businessman. They are well loved by their friends and people who knows them so when the news breaks out that they are missing, it caught a media attention.
The girls are reported to be Kidnapped, gang raped and killed by 7 rich boys who have reputations of being delinquents and spoiled brats. That is How media sensationalized this case.
For decades those 7 rich boys are demonized as murderers, kidnappers and rapists. Seemed like a happy ending as Justice is served but a documentary got viral about this case.
The so called body of 1 of the sisters is found while the other one is still missing.
One of the suspects is easy to demonize because he is a delinquent teen who is rich and he does look like a bratty jerk but just because you are a bratty Jerk it doesn't mean you are a rapist murderer. His mom was a cousin of a Politician so media also portrayed him as a son of a powerful family.
Here is where the case became suspicious. The court allowed a spirit medium to be a witness on the court while the suspect who claimed he was in Manila when the crime happened and his teachers and classmates testified that he was in class during the day of the crime are rejected by court.
The crime happened in Cebu and it is an island away from Manila. The distance is oceans away.
So here is where it gets crazy.... The body found is hard to identify to be one of the victims. The mother of the "victims" got a political position and recently a photo of the sisters being alive got viral. The sisters didnt die while these boys rot in jail. They sisters are hiding in Canada alive and kicking.
So Why fake death? The dad of the sisters are suppose to be questioned by the police because he is a suspected drug lord. To get the attention away from him he fake his daughter's death and make them hide abroad, get a corpse of a woman and say it's his daughter. The cops leave him alone as he is now seen as a grieving father. They framed up rich boys so they will look like the under dogs and the suspects are easier to demonize. the boys do have history of being delinquents but rape and murder is not part of them.
Well that is what the documentary below says. I don't know If I should believe this documentary if the sisters are really alive and these rich kids are innocent. But a court allowing a spirit medium make a testimony and not the 42 classmates and teachers of one of the suspects very suspicious.
The documentary is fascinating to watch. Do you think these men are innocent? They lost their Youth and boyhood in jail with the whole world thinking they are murderers.

I’ve watched this documentary as well and it stirred mixed emotions and mind teasers. In here, you will see a lot of reasons why the people of the Philippines themselves don’t trust our judiciary. It shows just how much power and influence topples money, even when everybody thought it’s most influential in our country.
Like I always say, I was not there, so I don’t know what to think, nor I think myself eligible to pass a judgment. But this documentary told both sides of the story, even showing interviews with the experts, witnesses, and concerned fellows from both parties. It showed how partial our judiciary was during the entire duration of the trial. Even if I can’t decide on this, what’s important for people to see is that everyone can be a victim. That our judicial system can be played. And that things like this really happen in our country.

The judge is suspicious, he refused the statements of over 40 witnesses, a whole classroom of students who was in the same classroom with him at the day of the crime. The crime happened in Cebu, an island far from manila. Also the judge allowed a spirit medium to be a witness.

I have not watched the documentary yet, but I am like Saint Thomas in a case like this one : has it been proved that these girls are still alive in Canada ? If yes, they migrated there with fake IDs, and Canada should withdraw their citizenship if they are Canadians and send them back to the Philippines. If no, have you thought a second that if a medium manipulated the court, the parents of some rich boys can be rich enough to have paid for this documentary and are perhaps manipulating the opinion ?

@CaptAlbertWhisker You can have a lot of reasons to not want a DNA, for example if the father was another man, it does not prove by itself that they are alive. And getting a promotion is normal in a career, it is automatic here : every 2 or 3 years a public servant climbs a level.

@topffer They all got a faster rise on their career. Unbelievably past. One of the accused was transferred to Spain because he is double citizen but he was saved by the King of Spain because he reviewed his case and believes he is innocent.

I heard the story too.. I am intrigued by the way the story looks now than before. I think that if all their allegations are true then our justice system is really in bad shape since they allowed unreliable testimonies and disallowed testimonies that could have made the suspects innocent.
But for now, I would like to hold judgement on any of them. I would be happy to have a retrial of the case since I think the way it was handled was not clear but I guess there is final judgement already that came from supreme court already. Even the courts of Spain seems to respect that decision since when he was transferred to Spain's custody they are still being held in prison and is reluctant to open the case in Spain.

The conspiracy is Erap see Osmeña as a threat to his presidential campaign. So he framed up an Osmeña relative to demonize the family so he will have one less rival on the election which he won easily because Filipino voters loves populists.
I can't believe the court allowed a spirit medium to make a testimony and even managed to win the case. A spirit medium... what a bogus....

If the story is true, that the sisters are just hiding somewhere, the alleged suspects should be meted justice for that wrong accusation. May truth prevail!

People are now believing the sisters are alive because the mom refuses to have a dna test to the corpse found.
