So, after reading the article I linked to below - I tried a session with the chatbot therapist called the Woebot.
I loved the witty title.
I did find the Woebot's advice to be helpful, but it is best to only address the Woebot with general complaints such as things like : I feel depressed. Rather than : My neighbor rings my doorbell at early morning hours and wants to visit and vent all her rants at me because she's drunk and angry.
I don't think we have to worry anytime soon about traditional talk therapists being put out of business - though with future advancements I do wonder if talk therapy, other services too, would need to worry.
Here;s a more humorous game than the Woebot: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/469803

@amadeo I haven't had an issue with drink - but I actually have enjoyed a lot of AA's material - you can apply it to many topics just by changing the words

Ah - perhaps the answer is in Psychiatrist vs. Psychologist . The former is a medical Dr. on top of a Psychology degree. They can prescribe and usually do in the most pushy manner. The latter isn't a medical Dr. - can't prescribe - though they can suggest. Of course some of them or better/worse than others too...

@CatNip7 I've heard it said that the best Psychologists help their client realize their own power/ability to change or heal, help people to help themselves, also imagine if you are in an unusual situation - maybe it's dealing with family or something of that nature - so it's not like you can talk to anyone about it - a therapist can be a listening ear, some are trained in different sort of therapies for various disorders.... so um, yeah a variety of things.

Ah yes, I think she needs therapy. Possibly a whole lot more. She keeps things... interesting, say the least.

Interesting you say that....
well - this same neighbor of mine, during one of her drunken rants, told me that she sabotages people's tires when she's angry at them.
Fast forward a couple weeks and I've found I have a flat.
???
Not saying she did it, just it is sort of funny timing...hmmmm

Ummm... I would be suspicious too!
I think you should be more strict with her.
I wouldn't let drunk people in my house. "You are welcome to stop but only when sober!"
Sometimes we have someone that comes to us for money. When he understood we're not gonna help him when drunk he simply hid the bottle before knocking
That's sad... People just can't control themselves

@Ntan822 True. I made the mistake and let her in once. Big mistake.
Now I tell her I'm busy, pretend I'm on the phone, tell her I have company coming, etc.
I try to avoid in general / stay polite and on her good side though....
You're right. Sometimes people "friends" even will come around only for handouts. It's a sad state of affairs, but at least one tends to catch on fairly easily

I am curious to try it. It is different from a real therapist of course, but I still think that it could be an interesting experience.
