Do you watch cooking channels on TV?

Although I don´t follow any cooking channel, I like to watch them once in a while.
I confess that I would never cook those recipes exactly they way they do it there. Most chefs on TV use much more oil and eggs than what I use. But I get ideas about how to cook meat and what to add to a casserole.
Another thing I don´t like is the amount of food they throw away. I use all and everyone of the leftovers I have.
Still they help as ideas for cooking. Do you watch cooking shows on TV? Are they interesting for you?

For me it is exactly the opposite. I prefer salty things.

I hardly watch much TV these days . . . but back in the days I used to LOVE watching those cooking shows! I rarely tried to make anything the pro chefs made - it was just interesting to watch them. These days they have those short cooking/recipe videos shared in places like Facebook - I watch those online now!

Online recipe videos have taken the place of cookbooks now.

@much2say I don´t read some of them except for a special recipe. But I still browse at my old copy of The Joy of Cooking.

@LadyDuck There are recipes that I know by heart. But some of them, I check to see if I can add something special for my guests.

Yes, I do. But I would prefer to watch them on Netflix instead because I can download all the shows that I want and watch them later. I enjoy watching them although I know that I can't do some of the recipes that they make. The ingredients are hard to find and I don't have the necessary kitchen equipment here at home.

I mostly want to prepare easier dishes that do not require to be standing up too long in the kitchen.
