Is it already Fall in California? How's the weather where you are? / myLot

As I sit at my desk, sipping my first cup of coffee, I can feel the cool air on my feet. Outside, I see both sunshine and haze. It's August 1st, but the cool air makes me think of Fall. California's weather is weird. Spring comes early, and our fields look emerald green like Ireland in January through March, when many Americans are shoveling snow. By June, our fields are yellow, soon to be brown. We used to say that "fire season" starts in September, but this Summer has shown is that it really starts as soon as the green grass has disappeared. How's the weather where you are? Can you feel Fall in the air? Or does it still feel like the "dog days" of Summer? I'll attach a picture from one of my January or February hikes, when things are the most beautiful here.

We have a heat wave and it's horrible, I would prefer to have Autumn weather.

@marlina I cannot stand this heat, now I hear the thunder and I hope it's going to rain, at least a little time to cool down the temperature.

Today its rainy so it won`t be so hot. No August is one of the hotter months in Alabama, usually. But this year we have had rain so maybe not as much crispy grass.

It was one of the hottest in the Midwest as well (when I Lived there). Glad you got some Summer rain. We have not had any rain since Spring.

we haven't had rain for weeks now which is good, i can bear the heat but not that flood.

Do you usually get rain at this time of year? Are the rain cycles different in different parts of India?

@TheHorse yes. Here we get rains in the month of July and August.. There are some parts of India where rains are uncertain and can occur anytime in the year..

Lodi is in the middle part of the State. It gets REALLY hot out there in the Summer.

@TheHorse The poor girl lives in a hot trailer out there in the fields with my handicapped cousin. I do not envy her. Nothing out there it seems so she tells me.

Oh gosh, I haven't even thought of autumn yet . . . we are for sure very much in summer still. We are in a steady stream of mid-high 90s!

Since we don't have fall season, I don't know how it actually feels like. But in my side of the world, it's still the wet or the rainy season. It hasn't rained for a couple of days until last night, August first and now it's Thursday morning here and it started to rain when I was driving my son to school.

It's still summer here but it's not quite so humid. The only signs of fall is that it's starting to get a little darker earlier in the evening. I love when it's still light out at 8:30pm
