Low Pressure by Sandra Brown is a very good mystery/thriller/romance book that I had a hard time putting down. It was a little on the long side but worth it.
It has been 18 years since Bellamy's sister was killed at the Memorial Day Picnic for her father's company. This tragic event left no member of the family unscathed and free of emotional scars. Bellamy published a fiction book based on the true story of the event under a pseudonym only for her true identity to come to the surface via a tabloid reporter bent on getting to the whole story.
Everyone Bellamy's sister Susan associated with was interrogated by the police including her boyfriend, Dent and the last person she was seen with at the picnic, Alan who was eventually convicted and sent to prison. However, Alan was murdered in prison two years into his sentence. Ever since Alan's conviction, some people questioned whether they had the right man. Including the now retired cop who helped put him there.
Bellamy's father's dying wish is for her to find the truth before he dies, so he can have the closure he needs. Teaming up with Dent, her sister's once boyfriend, they sort through the clues leading to the real killer. All the while, trying to avoid a maniac out for their blood, who turns out to be Alan's brother.
Will they uncover the truth in time to alleviate her father's concerns about the horrible tragedy? Will Alan's brother get to them before they find the truth? How much is really at stake once they find the truth? Will Bellamy and Dent discover different feelings for each other?
This book had it all. Romance, suspense, mystery, and thriller. I am really liking Sandra Brown and will continue to read her books. I recommend this book and I gave it 4 stars on Goodreads.

I don't know how you get through so many books. You are very well read. I loved reading as a child but seem to have got out of the habit now.

@morgoodie I'm a little fed up with MyLot at the moment. I've been forcing myself to come here and I don't even get many notifications now.

LOL. I haven't been watching TV and when I am too tired to work online I just read. I have always read a lot and it is my favorite thing to do. This past couple of weeks I have been slacking at reading. The book that I am reading now just isn't catching my interest that much but I don't want to quit this one either.

@sprite1950 Yeah I haven't been here much so I haven't been answering your comments here. I try not to let them go too long. I just now made it to $3 from last month. I have really been slacking. I have been at FC more lately too. My interest picked up. Now there seems to be a new member posting all this religious topics. Just what we need. Religion crammed down our throats. I don't know if they have been commented on but we shall see how long they last. I'm terrible!!!

I will be looking again tomorrow to see if they have it at the thrift store. I still plan to go to that other thrift store sometime, but I am not sure when. I will try to call them again tomorrow to see if they have "Low Pressure".
I haven't read your review here as I don't want to spoil anything.

@morgoodie Ah, you are right about Lumiere. Bellamy was some disney character's name, I feel sure of it. Oh well. It is an odd name.
Yes, well Steven rubbed me the wrong way as well, especially how he treated Bellamy when they met up. I am not at the part where Bellamy seems to be giving in to Dent. I haven't come across the Ray and another person thing. The last scene with him was when he was watching over the airport.

I don't do spoilers but that is okay. You can read it once you have finished the book. Now that you have the book it won't be long before you are able to read it and finish it. It was a little on the long side but still a very good read.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah I liked him too. The candlestick's name was Lumiere. I just thought Bellamy was an odd name. I didn't really like Stephan, but I could understand why he left home and didn't want to talk to his family. Ray is a very twisted individual, but he has to get revenge for his brother. I could see this turned into a movie for sure. I feel like if I say too much I will be giving the ending away. There is one scene in there involving Ray and another person that had me mad until I kept reading to find out about after the incident. I wasn't expecting the twist.
