Weirdest Way You've Made a New Friend?

I was just thinking about a couple of friends that I have met in weird ways and wondering what other weird ways people have made friends"? Here are my two stories. Feel free to share yours.
First weird way I met a friend was on the street corner. Okay, that's not as bad as it probably sounds, lmao. My son took the school bus to school in the US before we moved to England, but one morning he overslept and missed the bus, so I had to walk him to school. It wasn't far, but a little far for a small child. Anyway, as we were walking up to the street corner where we had to cross both ways, I heard a lady on the phone saying "He knows I can't see very well and he always tries to take advantage." This grabbed my attention as I am also visually impaired, so before we even said hello, we had something in common. After she got off the phone, she said hello to me as we both crossed the street, because she needed the bus stop on the same corner I was going to. She was talking about her son, how he tried to take advantage of her, but usually got caught. We struck up a conversation in the brief time we were walking together, and I found out she didn't live far from me and had several kids, including one near my son's age. We exchanged numbers and continued texting as I took my son to school. On my way back, she was still waiting at the bus stop, so I stopped and sat with her and we chatted until it came. We've hung out several times, going to amusement parks, spending the night and watching movies, having an Easter egg hunt, and all sorts. We became good friends and I really like her, and we've known each other for a few years now.
Friend number two was more recent and I don't know her well, but oddly enough we met at the hospital. We went on vacation and stayed in a hotel, but the first one we went to was moldy and gross, and they even changed our rooms several times but every room was terrible. It was so bad we had to leave, as it was triggering an asthma attack for my son, which he has very rarely. In the end we had to take him to the hospital because his attack got so bad. While he was in the treatment area, he was able to play between treatments, and another boy who was also there for an even worse asthma attack was watching Dispicable Me, so they watched it together. His mother and I got talking and hit it off nicely. I even somehow managed to cheer her up a bit. She offered to buy us dinner, but we'd already eaten. She did buy my son an enormous caramel candy bar which was really nice of her. We don't live as close as my other friend and I did, but we do want to meet up again sometime, outside of the hospital this time. I certainly wasn't expecting to make a new friend there of all places though.
So what are your bizarre stories of making new friends?

I'm thinking any situation can seem bizarre to others especially those from other cultures.
I tend to talk to strangers quite a bit so any of those circumstances could seem bizarre to my kids along with anyone else.
I have two close friends from my first job back in the seventies and I had a very good friend whose kids grew up with mine when she became my babysitter. Someone from my church introduced us as we needed a babysitter for my first child. And shortly thereafter we became friends as well.
The thing is everyone was a stranger before becoming a friend and it's cool how all friendships develope.
