On and off again! I have always had my submissions accepted and paid for. Prior to my submissions, I have always used a punctuation checker and adhered to their suggestions. Yesterday I received a rather lengthy dissertation on my use of commas and a threat saying that if my punctuation does not improve my rating would be downgraded. I decided to beat them to the punch and just delete my account! They are a bit too comma crazy for me!

This sounds a lot like an excuse, not even journalist care a lot anymore about punctuation.

If the clients are happy and pay...does it matter where I stick a comma?

I quit Textbroker some time back (although I think I still have an account there). Some of their editors get too picky and if they're still doing the proofreading by writers, that's probably why. It goes to their heads, I think. Anyway, it just wasn't worth the headache to me after awhile and I had made some good money there in the past, too.

@Paradon Yep. The last I heard you had to be rated at 4 to apply. I guess they figured it would be cheaper than to hire a real proofreader.

Did they say use less commas or more? I tend to use them a lot. One of my writing instructors hated over use of commas.

They said that my comma usage was incorrect. No problem. I use scribens.com and I have never had problems before!
