Public Display of Affection - Does it make you uncomfortable or not?

Hi mylotters. As you know I stay in India and the Indian society though has got modern as per times, still because of deep rooted values instilled in us, in certain cases the society has certain norms which are followed by everyone. For example kissing in USA and other countries is quite normal which is done by couples in public. Our country's culture is very different so all this isn't allowed to be done in public. Due to this regulations though, there are many couples seen sharing intimate moments in public places. I don't feel much comfortable watching them instead of enjoying the beautiful nature. Are you comfortable watching public display of affection? Are you ok with it? Do share your views.

I don't mind here in New York we see all kinds of things but people are so use to it that they just ignore.

That's how I see New York. Pretty "wide open." I enjoy the "passion" I perceive when I visit Manhattan.

A short smack kiss is okay but crazier than that they should find a room.

"Find a room!" is an expression people sometimes shout here at public lovers.

I have seen it here only in parks or beaches. Maybe restaurants alos, when there are very few people. I have nothing to say about it. I do not watch them either because there are too many other things to watch and I feel it is not right to keep on watching when a couple is kissing, hugging or touching each other. Just have one look at them and walk my way. But they should be careful nobody is watching them, because this is India and there are some moral police here. There are incidents in which a couple has been thrashed by moral police.

Hold hands... have a few kisses, etc is totally okay. However when people are on top of each other, and doing very physical actions with the areas between the legs that is too much and should be done in private.

I rarely see that, even here in the US.

@TheHorse At one point in my life I lived across the street from a bar. After a certain hour its best not to look at the street/ outside!

I do not mind if is within a limit..hugs, holding hands and maybe a gentle kiss but beyond that it crosses the boundary of decency.

That's how I feel as well. Are there actual laws about it in India?

I don't mind PDA until its in the limits and not affecting/disturbing other people. One place where PDA really pisses me off is in Mumbai local trains. The locals are already crammed up and then these lovebirds take up spaces causing inconvenience to travelers.

If it's "over the top," it bothers me. Is it actually "against the law" there? Or just frowned upon?
