Age Is Just A Number

After I wrote my last post I ran across this image. I love it. It is so true to my nature. I really don't think of age. When someone asks me my age I actually have to think about it before I answer.
I am one of those believers of the old quote by Mark Twain, "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter".
Oh, I feel my age some days but then, some days I feel so much younger. I just take each day one by one and do the best I can with it.
It doesn't do to dwell on the fact that we are all getting older. I will happen anyway. The alternative is not something I am quite ready for. I am too involved in enjoying life.
Do you think about age a lot? Are you worried about getting older?

I’m not worried about getting older. Too late for that, ‘cause it’s HERE!

Age does matter and more than a number. The higher the number the less time remains.

It's the aches and pains that would be coming with it that I dread plus looking in the mirror

@HazySue there is a little boy and girl in all of us, not just in looks, it comes out from time to time.

@louievill it sure does. I think it is called your inner child.

I'm still surprised at times when I remember how old I am! But the fact that common sense tells me my time on earth is growing shorter makes me not want to waste time.

@HazySue Okay, Susan. What can we decide to do that we've never done before? I've done a lot of "nevers" in the last ten years like zip lining with my daughter and granddaughter, wearing a tankini at the beach, walking in heels, preaching a sermon in church, and many others. Let's think of something really great, but not necessarily grand trips or anything too wild. But just something we've never done before. What do you think?

@1creekgirl I think you should use your imagination and go for it. You only live once.

I haven't been dwelling on my age, as I get older. It's not something that bothers me, because we're on the exact same train ride!

@HazySue Young people die all the time and they didn't expect it! Why should we spend our life, dwelling on how old we are? Age is just that, 'a number.'

Even when you don't want to remind yourself if your growing age, society make you realize everyday about it..

@HazySue That's good then. We live in moments and not in numbers..

I just turned 49 last month and already feel that age is catching up with me. We can't deny that the natural process of body aging is very real indeed and the effect that it slowly has on our body functions.
Mentally, we can make our mind escape from the reality.
But Why should we try to be in denial?
Embrace the changes with grace. ;-)
