The Worst TV ads

I used to enjoy some TV ads. They often had production and entertainment values to match the shows they interrupted. Nowadays the ads are cloying, patronizing annoying and heavily over-repeated. The Go Compare banking ads with a pompous opera singer bursting into song to praise the bank services is really bad.
Other bad ad tropes and traits. 1/. Use of nostalgic TV heroes (usually cartoon heroes like Scooby Doo) to peddle products, bank and insurance managers bursting into rap to appeal to the kids, the ads where a friend at a dinner party acts like a sales executive, praising his insurance company to high heaven and even having memorized the company phone number and web site addresses (I memorize few phone numbers and certainly not ones for businesses).
Ads which show someone hearing the ad and rushing out to buy the goods or sign an online contract on the spot without any effort to think it through at all fill me with great suspicion.
Ads used to be fun. Now they are intrusive, high pressure and virtually unwatchably irritating.

I really dislike some of the adverts for hair dyes. The one with Davina McCall is particularly irritating as it's obvious she doesn't use the product and goes to a professional hairdresser. I know she would also do that job to be paid rather than believing in the product. I used to like Youtubers reviews of products as I felt they were more honest. However, now we have all the most popular social media users becoming these "influencers" and just taking payments to say a product is good.
