Experiences are exciting but there should be more to Life

We are having exciting, educative, ride here, but are they what life is all about?
We can know more of what we have here, delve into what is given, to benefit us more but we have no clue where we go from here and what life is about. Most are resigned to the fact we would never know or go by our beliefs.
I feel a void and a thirst in my life. Why are we unable to know more about those that really matter than just surviving here? The body decays and just gives up on us and then we are supposed to have more exciting times waiting for us. That looks enticing, but will we remember our past, or, just like here, we are a different energy force wherever?
Life is a challenge no doubt, keeps us on our toes. We are preoccupied but the inner thirst is palpable. We meet bodily needs to quench the thirst and satiate our hunger but what about the inner yearnings?
Do you think on those lines often?

@LadyDuck Generally people start to worry at the first sign of age catching up. This happens when we are not able to indulge in certain foods we were fond of. I take a view I should be grateful I was able to enjoy them before and still have them moderately.
I should not expect my body to be the same what it was in my younger days. Yes, we come with a return ticket and we cannot refuse to board the flight when our number is called! siva l

It is interesting that Jesus said that if we ask it will be given us. So, I hope that you will one day be satisfied by receiving an answer that would satisfy your desire.

@Shiva49 at times, we resist change but we also know that change is the only constant in life.

Life being so uncertain, we have to make the best use of our time here.
We comfort ourselves in many ways when we are assaulted by our inner thirst about the meaning of our existence here and what lies ahead.
I too try to make the best of every moment - siva

I do believe that there is so more to life than what we see, feel, and experience .. there is infinity ..

For some of us, enjoying life and keeping it exciting means helping others and doing good deeds daily @Shiva49
Hope you are having a great day thinking about these things.

I think that we must all learn how to embrace our inner yearnings.
Love lives within each point of creation, yearning to be re-attached to its sole point of origin, God.
These inner yearnings can only be satisfied when we re-establish this connection to God consciously, not just unconsciously, as it always is so already, and which brings to us experiences with God in dreams, imaginative-like connections, or deja-vu experiences too.
Life is mostly about bringing our unconscious knowing to conscious recognition, and acceptance, through various types of life experiences, both inner and outer, conscious, and sometimes unconscious types of varied experiences, that we can learn something from each one of them, and so get always closer, and closer to the bee-hive, and so to finally taste the honey, that we can only smell now, and so sometimes, doubt its very existence. It's known by many other names too, another which is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Life might not wet us if we stay in our bus, but somehow, we must also realise, what we are floating on. Life floats on God's love.

A thought-provoking response, thanks, Steve.
One of my elderly relatives passed away and I went a few times before and after the event.
I met some old acquaintances, some of them are doing well and endowed with material possessions.
However, I could not but wonder how insecure and flippant some were.
Obviously, they pursue their career and also the rituals.
I could see they suppress the inner yearnings, bottling up their emotions.
They are not like the ebullient Aussies; okay, more like the stiff upper lip Brits!
Agreed, they were not pretending they were busy but I wondered, is that all that is in life?
I feel blessed I called it quits and no more at the beck and call of others for life!
I have time to live altruistically and see others are just like me.
Some are unfortunate for no fault of theirs due to medical issues especially.
Let us not forget that what we work for all our lives and take it for granted they belong to us, but will be left behind. We can all lead our lives with love and then feel the richness and fulfillment of God's presence.
It is the memory that leaves the indelible mark and, maybe, what we carry forward in our final moments - siva

@Shiva49 Thanks for sharing those thoughts siva.
I have always yearned to understand my yearnings, but some seem to have faith, without the need of understanding.
My mum is like that. She has great faith, and seems to live within God's presence.
Even when she is in great pain, she still manages to smile, for a camera shot, as she wants to please us with a good picture.

@Shiva49 It's funny because many of us feel insecure at times
I think that feelings of insecurity stem from fears of a calculated future rather than a trusted one.
When you want a future to pan out for yourself in a certain calculated way, it never will, and this continued lack of control leads to feelings of insecurity, unless you finally let go, and let love.
Love controls all, but without ever controlling anything, if you let it, and let go of your own control, and need for control and security.
Love is a paradox of control and uncontrol in one, as it is just itself, always in control, but never being controlled, or out of control, and yet no control exists in love either.
Love just is love, forever itself, doing love.

@Shiva49 yes if we go by tenets of Bhagwad Gita, we acquire a new body in our next birth just as we wear our new clothes.
It differs though, as per our deeds whether we get a human body or some other living being's form.

I agree, we have our duties and responsibilities here than getting lost in those that do not matter for our survival here.
However, we are always drawn to thoughts about the afterlife often and that may indicate something is indeed there beyond this physical world - siva

It becomes more of a race against time as we get older and try to do as much as we can with what time we have left. I hope you have many happy and rewarding years to come yet!

Thanks.
My life priorities have changed. There is no long-term, just attend to what is needed "now".
As time is running out obviously, I move away from worldly accouterments as they are more like liabilities, not worth much attention.
Adding life in my years than years in my life is my inner guidance - siva

@everwonderwhy Thanks, I like to inquire and learn from my experiences to know who I really am.
Why am I here?
Why I meet some out of the blue?
What are the hidden messages they convey?
Every experience enriches our lives; we should reflect on them - siva

@Shiva49 I like your perspective. And it gets better everyday that we are alive to experience, learn from yesterday and enjoy.
