Heading to Montana

Me too, one day me and my sister will travel there to see Montana, she always wanted to see it too.

@DaddyEvil , they are not full time employees they are working part time and since they are living near by there is no problem! I don't want to rent it to any body as, they may not maintain the house the way I wanted it to be, They may created problems in vacating the house and We woon't get the house when it is needed when we are on vacation!

@AKRao24 I see. Thank you for enlightening me. Yes, problems frequently arise when someone rents a home they sometimes use. Getting the renters to keep the home clean and looking nice can be difficult.

I am curious... you keep two full-time employees to look after your vacant home? Are they employed as caretakers there? Sometimes people here who have more than one home will hire a married couple to live in, clean and maintain one of the homes while the owner lives in the other. The second home is usually in a setting the owner loves but is too far from his/her employment to make living in the second home affordable in terms of travel time to and from the job site. The second home may be only used during the owner's vacation time or they may stay there during long weekends, as well. (Usually, if the owner(s) lives close enough to make a trip to the second home for weekends, the caretaker(s) are part-time help and have their own home nearby.) My first wife and I were in the process of building a vacation house on a cliff overlooking Table Rock Lake (about and hour's drive time from our main home) when Pretty was born.

@TheHorse Did you have fun? Do not worry, pretty sure Golden State is still better than the Lakers with Lebron. I mean, its basically the same as Cleveland. A bunch of scrubs and then Labron, At least, Lakers will make the playoffs again.

@TheHorse Do you have a landline phone now? We still have it at home.

@LadyDuck I do. I have one here in California, and they were able to figure out the problem with the one in Montana. I'd been without service there for years. The problem was in a switch box in town. They should have been able to catch it sooner.

I just wanted to let my people know I made it safely. And to have the phone fixed for future Summers.

It was a great time. I also visited a former kid client in Colorado. She's 20 now! Her mom called me her "real dad." That touched my heart.

The place is so familiar, it's never scary. Even though a bear has been spotted near my cabin recently. The friendly ghsts of my ancestors are everywhere there.

I had a great time. My most recent post is a quick summary. I'll be posting more about it soon.

This cabin was built well before I was born. It's humble. We get our water from a mountain stream.

@TheHorse Was the phone at your cabin still plugged in? If you unplugged it, then the people in town would have no way to know if the problem was on their end or on yours...

The problem turned out to be with a switch box in town. They actually DID get it fixed. But if the problem was in town, they should have been able to fix it years ago.

@TheHorse My cabin in N Idaho had an outhouse. Deer snorting at us in twilight scared us until we figured it out.

We have an outhouse, which I did some repair work on. And the water comes from a mountain spring.

I did and I did. Time to adjust to being back home (and maybe take a brief trip to see a friend in Santa Barbara).

@andriaperry Yep, my class at the college starts on the 28th. I'm glad it wasn't earlier.

I would up doing a lot of work on the cabin. But I also relaxed and played a lot of guitar.

I love green fields too. I enjoyed college in Iowa because of the lovely soy and corn fields there.
