My reading this book all started because I had recommended another book by the same author to someone here. They, in turn, recommended this book to me. It took me awhile to track it down but I finally got a copy for a decent price.
Now I am a little over halfway done with the book.
Bellamy Lyston Price has written a book about one of the most tragic days of her life. The day that her older sister, Susan Lyston, was murdered. Bellamy was only 12 years old when this happened, and she hasn't ever truly gotten over it. Her writing of "Low Pressure" was supposed to be cathartic, a way for her to let her personal demons out of the bag.
What she hadn't anticipated was what other demons her book might uncover.
I will admit that in parts of the book I found myself thinking "aw come on, just get on with it!" and for a few pages I had to force myself to continue on. I am glad that I did. The plot thickened quite considerably, and I have found myself hoping that one character I've taken a liking to, is as innocent as he seems to be.
It's a twister of a book, and one that I would recommend you checking out.
*Rainwater by the same author is also a good book, albeit much different than what this author normally writes.

I am glad you are liking it. I would agree that parts of it were a little slow and seemed like they could have been left out completely, but it was still worth the read. I can't wait until you finish. I figured out the end before I finished the book and I bet you can too.

You usually can figure it out in these types of books. It's rare that I've read a book and been completely stunned by who did it.
It's storming here, which is good reading weather, I'll probably pick the book up ever few minutes and read a few pages.

@morgoodie Our thunder here has sounded weird lately. More of a dull boom. I don't know, I guess it probably has something to do with the air pressure.
It's definitely raining a bit now, and is darker than it normally would be at this time. I do like a good storm.
Hopefully we will both be reading The Woman in Cabin 10 at the same time.
It's 7 pm here, what time is it there?

@ScribbledAdNauseum It was raining off and on today but now the sun is out so I imagine it is even more humid now than it was earlier. I will begin reading after I am done with my online work for the night. I have to go pick my daughter up from her friend's house soon. I can't wait to start The Woman in Cabin 10.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am currently reading a book I won and I'm having so much trouble getting into it. Each chapter is narrated by one of 3 characters and most of the sentences are brief, incomplete, which sometimes makes it confusing. Plus all 3 characters are supposed to come together at some point but what I am reading right now is 3 totally different characters and I'm not interested in any of them.

@patgalca It befuddles me when an author writes a book that switches to different perspectives too often. I decided to pass up on a book wherein even the synopsis said that their would be a switch in point of view bridging between centuries.
I figured that would get too complicated.
I hope you can finish the book that you won. It isn't an ARC (advanced reader copy) is it?

Exactly and then some. It's a mystery / thriller type. A pretty good book. I should be done with it by tomorrow at the rate I am going.

That sounds like one I would like. A nail biter that really held my interest and was quite good for an Amazon Kindle book was the Ex Wife. I opted to read it at night instead of Netflix..so you know I liked it!

@snowy22315 I just finished reading the synopsis for "The Ex Wife".
I think I am going to have to find it. I loved "The Girl On The Train."
I read a story on reddit a few months back. I can't recall all of the details but it was similar to the synopsis of this book in ways. At the end of this reddit story, the readers (and the new wife) find out that the man is actually already married, and that he and his "other wife" are serial killers.
He woes a woman into marrying him, they have a few good months together and then BAM, the couple kill the woman.

Ex Wife sounds interesting. Who wrote it?
Yes, I am nearly done now. Maybe 60 more pages to go.

I have less than 150 pages left of the book. I've probably read a little over 100 pages today already. I am not always a big fan of books like this, but this one is pretty good.

"slipped by me" as in you've not come across it? Or you didn't like it as much?
Have you read "rainwater" ? that was the first of her books I've read.

@Marilynda1225 According to the copyright date, this was released in 2012. It's only the second book I've read by her, with Rainwater be the first.

Rainmaker was the first I had read by her. I read it when it first came out, and then again not too long ago. I saw her books on a shelf of a thrift store and figured I'd get a couple. She's not a bad writer at all.
