With the temps in the high 80s and heading for the 90s I agreed with the song shouting on the radio – light my fire. It is enough to light anyone’s fire and I visualized myself just stepping out my front door and standing at the top of my wooden stairs. There the sun heats things up all day so that by late afternoon you cannot only light your fire but you can just melt away. However, I am not complaining since it is cool in my apartment and there is a promise of rain in which case I will stand there singing raindrops keep falling in my head.
Anyway back to my song post. Who remembers this classic song “Light My Fire” by the Doors. The song was recorded in 1966 and released as a single in 1967. It rose up on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed there for three weeks at number one. It went on to be certified gold. The song is on Rolling Stone magazines list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
When Jose Feliciano did a cover version he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1969. I stay true to The Doors.
Who remembers this song? Who has heard the cover version?

@RasmaSandra I'm glad you're not regretting your decision although I think you first went back to Latvia for the benefit of your mother - which was a lovely thing to do.

@JudyEv that is right. My faith that my loved ones are with me and near me and watching over me greatly helped to leave them all behind in the cemeteries in Latvia. I know those are just places to go to remember but they are not there.
