filipino could mean male pilipino/pinoy but filipino/pinoy could also mean nationality. i'm filipino/pinoy is the same as i'm american.

@Sammilita Just a note: This ? should only be used after a question. I realize you don't mean any harm but the reason I'm pointing this out is it comes across as being rude and/or condescending in some cultures especially when used in a certain context. Some people may misunderstand you

Ahm I think all around the globe it is Filipinos. And local call them selves pinoy pinay.

Maybe its not, Filipinos are the English term of Pilipino. To recognize PINAY calls for women, PINOY for MEN.

Mostly whatever I've heard/seen them call themselves: Filipina or Filipino. I've used Pinoy as well
