This years heat is crazy! Global warming? (Or should I say warning)

Apparently, thousands have died due to heat stroke in Portugal, it was like 47 degrees there. Is it this hot for you guys? I live in Sweden, and it's 35 degrees and it hasn't been this hot for ages!!! How is this possible?!

We had a fairly warm summer last year, main problem was that it was too dry. Not as dry as in Southern Norway and Sweden though. When the wind was coming from the east we could smell the forrest fires in Sweden all the way to Trondheim.
