Not always. The other members here like @NJ Chicaa and @JudyEv are right. It is possible you lack potassium in your system. Also, may I suggest that you rest your legs from carrying your baby.
There are many fruits that have high potassium content.
I am 58 and I seldom feel leg cramps so I think that ageing is not the main reason for the cramp of your lower limbs.

I think it's one of the factors but in your case, you are still young.
I remember when I was still healthy, I used to get cramps on my right leg.
I thought maybe because of the whole day sitting working in my station.
Then I found out later on that my right kidney is damaging.
Up until now I still have leg cramps.
And sometimes it happens too if you lack water in your body, that's what our Doctor explained to us for a dialysis patient, or it could be that you are lacking potassium too.

@scarlet_woman I just remembered I was rushed in the emergency room with that result. I lacked potassium. The doctors thought I'm having a stroke since I have heart problems.

Maybe you were dehydrated that day? This can deplete needed minerals your body requires. As was mentioned check your diet and add food like bananas which replenishes you body. Proper stretching after any exercise, even baby carrying can be beneficial.

I only experience arthritis last 2016 and learned to have uric acid. Yeah, that's a problem, as we grow older we get weaker so we have to be careful of what we eat.

I don't think thag having leg cramps is always connected to aging. It can be due to stress in your muscles from to much pressure while doing some activities, or lack of nutrients in your body.

If it was only one leg, you'd need to worry (a little) about DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) - and those are dangerous because that clot could travel anywhere....like to the lungs or brain. But both legs, + the fact that you were carrying a heavy kid all day....I'd say muscle cramps for sure. Nerves can bring this on too, but usually it has to do with strain. Back pain can also radiate and shoot down towards the legs, so there could have been some strain on your back as well.
So nothing to worry about. But take a rest now!

I believe so. Lately my I get a cramp when I move my feet the wrong way. I never had it before. I also attributed it to the fact that I'm middle aged.

Our bodies remind us of our age. Lol. I'm like oh-please-don't-remind-me-again every single time.
