Good morning everyone.
Today last visit with my daughter as she heads home to GA.
Was there a toy you wanted as a child but never got?
For me was Lionel electric trains.
Never did have many or if any toys as a child.
Living in the great depression years.Things were very limited.
How about you

I wanted a bicycle for a long time. I could only have one when I had saved a big part of its value by working, when I was around 13 years old.

There was a doll back in the 70s called "Gabigail". You would say something to her and she had a recorder in her and she would repeat what you say. I really wanted one and put it on my Christmas List, but never got one. I was sad about it.

I wasn't spoiled and showered with toys as a kid but I probably got whatever I wanted. I can understand why you didn't get expensive Lionel trains during the depression. They are costly even in the best of times.

The one thing I really wanted was a pony..but in terms of toys..I wanted a cotton candy maker. For some reason, I got a sno cone maker instead! It must have been cheaper!

I'm sure there were plenty I wanted and didn't get, but none come to mind right now.

There were a few for me, mostly toys that my friends had which my parents couldn't afford. It sounds strange but my parents gave me a doll house one Christmas but didn't give me any dolls or furniture to go inside. I ended up having to imagine characters and furniture when I was playing. My parents actually apologised for doing this years later and said they thought it was why I was so weird!!

There were toys I asked for Gabigail--a doll that talks,Sip along Sue--dolls sips when you drink from a special straw.Skateboard--that was probably a good thing I didn't get one because I am not so coordinated.I did have skates and a stingray handlebar bike though. Also had a Litebrite,Barbies,Romper Stompers,Hoppity Hop(a ball you sit on and bounce on)
