Life is precious. We value our own as well as those near and dear to us. And tt is painful when someone passes even if it is by natural causes or accidental ones, but it is inevitable. There was this acquaintance when her husband whose age was just 49 suffered a stroke and given the option of life support. The life support option came after the second attack after one week. We are in the same hospital because my mother was then admitted in the same condition. After consulting and clarifying things with the doctors about the assurance and the probability of survival, she had her decision finally. Another acquaintance is in his 100 and was ill. Of course his family love him so much and since they belong to a well-off family, they have the resources to pay his medication. It cost a fortune especially now that he's relying on a life support. Of course they want him to stay and I understand the point. What are your thoughts about the situation?

I might try it for my loved ones for a while, but if there was no improvement after a few days I would let them go. It would be the kindest thing.

You are correct. If it will no longer work, well at least we tried our best.

We have an option and if we have enough resources, it can help. It depends also on the decisions of the involve party. It really needs a discussion. What the patient wants and the family as well.

I have made it clear to my daughter @ZedSmart that after a couple of days if there is no improvement to pull the plug.

@ZedSmart My daughter already knows how much pain I have been suffering over the last 10 years so she knows it would be a blessing to let me go.

That must be very difficult for them or I should say to any member of the family.

Our family sometimes talk about this morbid stuffs over meal. We asked our parents if about this kind of situation and what they want us to do. Because it is a heartbreaking decision and very stressful. And they said just let them go. Because if it is their time and be it.

If I am on that situation or if I were to choose, I'll tell them that I need to rest already. Life support could no longer help me to get the back the way I am or give me the strength I needed to normalize my situation. But, things are different if it's my parents or other member of the family. Really heart breaking.
