Have you witnessed a crime? What did you do?

Years ago, It was sunday morning and we were on our way to the Church. My mom and I was riding a local Jeepney. There were only about 7 of us in the Jeep. Three Men in my front, and then four on my side (including my mom). It was a long travel, about 10 KM.. The guy on my front - he looked sad i sometimes saw his eyes when i look to his side, he too was wearing a cap. He shouted to the driver that he will get off on the next stop. Next thing I hear was the man on his side hold his shoulder, he said "you are not going down here." So we shrugged it off thinking they were friends and the other was kidding him. But the guy wearing a cap took his hands off his shoulder. Then the other guy shouted again and took out what looked like a gun! I struggled for a second, I thought there was a hold up... he was going to take our belongings... but i was seated near the exit so my reaction was I went down the Jeepney and hold my mom's hand who was still in shock. I dragged her out of there and we were running on the street, saw a house with gate slightly open. There was a small gathering in the house and we explained we were being robbed. The lady got my mom a water to drink but we heard a gunshot. We knew it was from the said Jeepney! My mom was shaking and the people in the house locked the gate and took us inside. Few minutes when there was silence, someone came and told us, it was not a robbery, but he was a hired killer. Intention was to kill only the guy, and so that is why he let us go run away from the Jeepney. So we just gave our statements to the authorities, but the truth is, i can remember the face of the victim... but i could not make out the face of the shooter, who by the way casually walked away from the jeep after killing the man, his target. To this day when i try to remember the shooter, i really did not pay attention to him all the time during our trip. I was more of looking at the man who was shot because he had a very gloomy face, His aura wasn't good and I was thinking if he was suffering from some sickness or if he was troubled with financial problems... After that incident, when I am in a public transport, i try to look at the faces of the people I am with. This way I could make out an image of the people, see more if there's someone who looked like he would do something bad, or what. So guys, have you had a time where you witnessed a crime, or if you knew someone who did? What happened, What did you do?

There was this man who climbed in our house late evening and I think that he must have something criminal in his mind. Good thing I was still awake. When I noticed him, he immediately jump and runs fast. Several years back, I saw a man who rushed himself to the nearest hospital because he was stabbed in his belly. I did not witness the stabbing incident, just the blood dripping.

oh but glad he ran away instead of doing something when you caught him. Be safe always my friend! we never know what they are capable of. I wish the man got all better now - must have been horrible to be stabbed like that. i would never be able to stand the sight of that, a man covered in blood. I've had times like this when i see accidents etc and people are all gathering around the scene - i never do that, i could never do it because i won't be able to stand the sight of someone in that position.

@chiyosan He might stunned because I shouted at him and neighbors heard and ready to help. I still reported it to the police for the record.

i've seen more accidents than crimes. i guess the closest to a crime was a woman breaking glass in the apartment above me so she could get back in-the landlord locked her out for nonpayment.i called the cops because she was showering said glass down on my doorway.

I usually witness crime in where I grew up before (Tondo) and I am totally aware of how frequent crimes are in our area. Whenever I witness a crime, when if it is a holdup, robbery or sometimes a shootout, they always told me not to interfere. If it case it happens to me, I will defend myself, runaway as far as I can and then I will call the police immediately. It happened to me before when me and my friend was being holdup in Parola and I decided to hit the robber with anything that I've grasped by that time and ran away with my friend as far as I can. When we got into the police station, the police didn't bother as it is not unusual in Tondo already.

I am not sure if the victim knew the killer, because they never really talked to each other during the trip, but the killer was just sitting very close to him all through out the ride.

@hereandthere oh my... maybe that's why he knew its bound to happen. if he does, why did he just accept that to be his fate. he should have fought at least to live, got out of other place where he could have more chance... ;'(

True, witnessing something like this is hard. it keeps you awake and you will be thinking a lot about it too. it will bother you for quite sometime.
