Aretha Franklin is dead at 76. Known as the Queen of Soul, she had a string of indelible hits and was one of the greatest singers in any style. this morning at ten or so.Very sad for the music world. We are going to miss her

It was sad to hear this news this morning. I looked on you tube and played "Til you come back to me" and then when she sang "Natural Woman" at the Kennedy Center salute to Carol King. I had tears in my eyes watching that. It made President Obama wipe his eyes too.

A very sad day indeed. It is interesting that she came from Detroit but she was not a part of Motown. She signed with Atlantic. But she was UBER talented and to call her just the 'Queen of Soul' does her an injustice. She was way more than that. May she rest in peace.
