Strangeness

It's an odd situation. My brother-in-law was hit by a car (and died) at 3:30am in a small Texas town, Fate, Texas. (in July) And NOThING made the news. My sis-in-law said there has been a request by someone for records to not be made public. Before it was "officially" un-public, my niece got police report stating names and ages of 20-something kids in car.... They weren't minors. 3:30am. Hmmm. I find it very odd. It piques my investigative spirit. I want to know why.

I wonder if it is somehow connected to another, bigger crime and the police are working on it.? It does make you want to know.

@jillybean1222 can you access older copies of their newspapers to see whether any bad news is ever reported? Even if none it's, it should be possible to find out whether those kids had to pay up in some way or what exactly.
If it is a part of a bigger thing they are watching it's think they would have told your sister in law something.

Maybe, the person who is involved in your brother-in-law's mishap is from a prominent family. Your family should insist the reasons behind the request.

You want to j know why that town doesn't report the news or you want to know why those young people hit your brothers car? Or was he walking? Didn't the young people at least get fined or have to spend time in jail?
Our town never used to share bad stories either we thought it was because they wanted our town to appear innocent and crime free. That was twenty years ago. Now more it's made public.
Maybe withholding information from the public is more common than I thought.
Was your brother killed instantly? Sorry to hear about this it must have been awful news. Was it common for him to be out and about in the wee hours of the morning?
