What's for dinner? August 21

What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know! I'm making a great recipe from a wonderful cookbook, Small Victories by Julia Turshen. I'm making the "A Nice Lasagna". I'm not making the pasta by hand (though I know how to and have made homemade pasta many times before) so I'm using no-boil lasagna sheets. This is a different recipe as it doesn't use ricotta and you mix creme fraiche right into the tomato sauce instead. It is really very tasty and something I've made several times before. It is nice and light for summer. I'm also making a zucchini and summer squash gratin to go on the side so we will get our vegetables too. That is what is happening here. What are YOU having? Do tell!
This lasagna comes from Julia Turshen's lovely cookbook, Small Victories (Chronicle Books, 2016).

I just had part of a burrito. And I have 1/4 of a Subway sandwich left over. So it will probably be the remnants of one of those. Great topic, by the way! Why didn't I think of it first?

Well, we're having... food. Mostly leftovers, and nothing terribly exciting. I'm hoping that the leftovers will be eaten and I'll have room in the fridge for things we actually want to eat.

I've had to throw some leftovers out the past couple of days. With just 2 of us and a husband who doesn't like them, they don't always get eaten.

@spiderdust Yeah. I'm trying to clear out my freezer too. It is a bottom-freezer which I love. . . I mean I love having the fridge up top but the bottom freezer is hard to keep organized.

@NJChicaa Sometimes I freeze them in serving sizes so I can pull them out for my own lunch later, but I need to defrost and reorganize the freezer right now, so I don't want to put any more in it than I have to.

oh yeah. This is an easy lasagna if you use no-boil noodles. Different from the traditional one with ricotta but very tasty.

I will bake a solomon fish with olive oil, grated garlic, squeezed lemon juice, salt and pepper. Maybe I will cook some rice with the yellow spice called curcum.

That sounds like a good meal. I had Easy Creamy Crockpot Chicken and Rice with leftover green beans and water to drink.
